What is Tribal Welfare Goa Scholarship Portal?

Directorate of Tribal Welfare Government of Goa is implementing “Scheme of Scholarships for Scheduled Tribes Community in State of Goa” with following three components:
i) Pre-Metric Scholarship Scheme
ii) Gagan Bharari Shiksha Yojana
iii) Merit Based Scholarship Scheme

Pre-Metric Scholarship Scheme

The Objective of the scheme is to improve the educational status and arrest the tendency of drop-outs of Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes Students by way of providing financial assistance to the families of such students who are otherwise unable to send them to schools due to poverty.

Eligibility

1. The applicant should be a bonafide resident of the State of Goa.
2. The applicant should be a regular Student of an institution.
3. The combined income of the parents/guardians of the applicant should not exceed Rs. 3,00,000/- per annum.
4. The applicant is not residing and receiving any maintenance grant in any institution under the Government or local bodies or private organizations receiving grants-in-aid from local orr the Central Government.
5. The applicant will not be eligible to recieve stipends or scholarships from any other source.
6. The applicant should belong to Scheduled Tribes.
7. The Student shall not be eligible twice to receive the award of stipends in the same standard.

Assistance

1. Class 5th and 6th -> Rs. 3575/- Per annum for both day scholars and hostellers.
Plus Rs. 900/- for students having marks greater than 50%
2. Class 7th and 8th -> Rs. 3575/- Per annum for day scholars and hostellers.
Plus Rs. 1000/- for students having marks greater than 50%
3. Class 9th -> Rs. 1125/- Per annum for day scholars.
Plus Rs. 1100/- for students having marks greater than 50%
4. Class 10th -> Rs. 1125/- Per annum for day scholars.
Plus Rs. 1600/- for students having marks greater than 50%

Gagan Bharari Shiksha Yojana

To provide additional financial assistance to the ST students as the maintenance allowance given under the Post Matric Scholarship is inadequate to meet the expenses on food and travel.

Eligibility

1. ST students must have availed or eligible for Centrally Sponsored Post Matric Scholarship during the current Academic Year.
2. Students should belong to Scheduled Tribes Community in State of Goa.
3. Income of Parents/Guardian should not exceed Rs. 5,oo,ooo per annum.
4. Student should be regular, full time student studying in a recognized Institution/University.
5. Scholarship for studying in any class will be available for only one year.If a student has to repeat a class, he/she shall not be eligible to get scholarship for second time in the same class.

Assistance

1. Rs. 7,500 /- is given for Day Scholar for 10 months
Rs. 15,000 /- is given for Hosteller for 10 months.

Merit Based Scholarship Scheme

To motivate students by giving Merit Based Award on the benchmark of the performance and to provide financial incentive to high performing students who are economically weak.

Eligibility

1. Merit Based Award for ST students whose Annual Family Income is less than Rs. 5,00,000 /- per annum having secured the requisite bench mark percentage.

Assistance

1. Rs. 5,000 for 50% to 59.99% of SSC and HSSC Board exams
2. Rs. 8,000 for 60% to 69.99% of SSC and HSSC Board exams
3. Rs. 10,000 for 70% to 74.99% of SSC and HSSC Board exams
4. Rs. 15,000 for 75% and above of SSC and HSSC Board exams

Student User Manual

1. Register yourself with basic details
Home page -> Register
2. Login with Aadhar No. as user id and user defined password (as entered in registration).
3. Online Application
All the Applications are fresh application for the current academic year.
Apply -> Fresh Application
Student details captured in registration phase are auto filled in application form.
Student need not enter again those details.
4. Documents Upload
Apply-> Upload Documents
Student need to upload Scanned copy of Aadhar Card, caste certificate, bank passbook, passing certificate/marksheet, photo, income certificate and consent form (for giving his/her consent to use Aadhar no.)
Consent form is available in downloads section on home page.
5. Applications submitted are forwarded to School’s Nodal Officer for Verification.

School User Manual

1. First time login allowed with School UDISE CODE as user id and password.
2. After First login, School needs to update their password.
School login -> User Management -> Change Password
3. For students to be able to fill applications under the particular school, school need to update their profile (Board, if govt, School level, contact details etc.)
School login -> User Management -> update profile
4. School needs to register Nodal Officers not more than 2 in number.
School login -> User Management -> Nodal Officer Registration
Nodal officer Registered by school are further verified by Directorate of Tribal Welfare and after verified, Nodal officer can login into the portal using his/her Aadhar no. as user id and password (as entered by school in registration phase).
Documents to be updated in nodal officer registration phase –
** Aadhar Card Scanner Copy
** Photograph Scanned Copy
** School ID Scanned Copy (as provided by school to the person)
