KSB DESW PMSS Scholarship

Department of Ex- Servicemen Welfare invites Online Applications for PMSS Prime Minister Scholarship for the year 2020-21. Hard copy / paper application will not be entertained.One candidate can apply for one course only.

Who Can Apply?

** Students who have taken admission in 1st year (except Lateral Entry & Integrated course) are only eligible to apply for PMSS.
** Students should have scored 60% and above in Minimum Educational Qualification (MEQ) i.e 10+2 / Diploma / Graduation.

** Students studying in 2nd and subsequent years are not eligible
** Students who are Dependent Wards / Widows of Ex Servicemen & Ex Coast Guard personnel.
** Wards of Civilians including Para Military Personnel are NOT ELIGIBLE.

How to Apply?

Just follow the below steps to apply for the Prime Minister Scholarship 2020-21.

Steps :
Step 1 : Visit the official website of KSB Kendriya Sainik Board.
Step 2 : Then Click on the link Apply Online under PMSS link.


Step 3 : New window will appear. First Upload your Passport size photo and click on upload button

Step 4 : If you have not registered earlier please fill all the boxes which appear in the window in Part-1 and Part-2 with details of ESM and click submit.

Step 5 : After registration, login ID, password and a link will be automatically generated by system and sent to Email mentioned in Registration Part-I

Step 6 : After successfully registration. User will get activation link to his/her email, kindly click on activation link.

Step 7 : After clicking on activation link, A window will appear and by putting your User Name (Login ID) and Pass Word, it will takes you to your dashboard and click on login button and login with login credentials.

Step 8 : After login click on “New Application” and choose Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme

Step 9 : Please fill all the boxes which appear in the window in Part-1, Part-2 & Part-3 and Scan all required documents in original and upload legible documents at right place of application.

Step 10 : Save and Forward (If application is not saved & forwarded, the onus lies with student/ESM). Please check with your ZSB about your application available on their Portal (if required).

If you save & do not forward, the application will be kept pending in your dashboard & will not be considered

Documents Required

(a) ESM / Ex Coast Guard certificate as per Annexure-1 duly signed by ZSB/Coast Guard HQ [Original to be scanned and uploaded]

(b) Bonafide Certificate duly filled up correctly and signed by Vice Chancellor/ Principal/Vice Principal/Dean/Associate Dean/Registrar/Dy Registrar/Director/Dy Director of the College / Institute as per Annexure-2 [Original to be scanned and uploaded]

(c) Certificate from bank stating that Aadhaar Card of student is linked with his/her bank account number as per Annexure-3 [Original to be scanned and uploaded]

(d) Matriculation certificate for verifying the Date of Birth [Original to be scanned and uploaded]

(e) Minimum Educational Qualification (MEQ) certificate as applicable (12th / Graduation ( Mark sheets of 3 years) / Diploma (mark sheets of all semesters) [Original to be scanned and uploaded]

(f) 1st page of Bank passbook (PNB/SBI only) clearly showing name and A/c number of student [Original to be scanned and uploaded]
(g) Aadhaar Card of student [Original to be scanned and uploaded]

(h) Copy of Part II Order(Army) / POR (Air Force) / Gen Form (Navy) in support of Category 1 to 5 and PPO / ESM Identity Card for category-6 to be scanned and uploaded in original

(i) Affidavit / Self attested certificate in case ward born after retirement (Original to be scanned and uploaded)
(j) Passport size photo of ESM

Scholarship Amount

A total number of 5500 wards / widows of Ex-servicemen are selected for scholarship in each academic year. Scholarships are equally divided amongst boys and girls.

Amount of Scholarship :
** Rs. 2000/- pm For Boys
** Rs. 2250/- pm For Girls

Priority for Grant of Scholarship

Order of preference for selection of candidates will be as under
** Category 1 – Wards & Widows of ESM / Ex Coast Guard personnel killed in action.

** Category 2 – Wards of ESM / Ex Coast Guard personnel disabled in action and boarded out of service with disability attributable to Military / Coast Guard service.

** Category 3 – Wards & Widows of ESM / Ex Coast Guard personnel who died while in service for causes attributable to Military / Coast Guard Service.
** Category 4 – Wards of ESM / Ex Coast Guard personnel disabled in service with disability attributable to Military / Coast Guard Service.

** Category 5 – Wards & Widows of ESM / Ex Coast Guard personnel in receipt of gallantry awards.
** Category 6 – Wards / Widows of ESM / Ex Coast Guard personnel (PBOR Only).

Important Instructions

** The concerned ZSBs / Coast Guard HQ to carry out 100% check of requisite documents uploaded on the website by the candidates with their original documents WITHIN FIVE WORKING DAYS of receipt at their HQ and forward the same to RSB.

** The concerned RSB to carry out 2nd stage check as and when they receive the applications

** ZSBs/RSBs to recommend the applications ONLINE to next higher formation as and when they receive the application from the wards/widow of Ex-servicemen WITHIN FIVE WORKING DAYS

** The merit list will be finalized by nominated Board of Officers at KSB and will be forwarded to RSBs/Coast Guard Headquarter. The merit list of selected candidates will also be uploaded on KSB website

** The scholarship is admissible for only TWO WARDS of ESM / Ex-Coast Guard.
** The first year scholarship amount will be remitted into the bank account after the selection of the candidate.

** The candidate must submit ‘ONLINE’ Payment-cum-Renewal Form, Bonafide Certificate for subsequent Payment of PMSS and Mark Sheets of both semesters / academic year & 1st page of bank pass book WITHIN ONE YEAR of completion of academic year / course, thereafter the scholarship will be closed.

** In case of change in address, course, college, it is to be intimated immediately to Kendriya Sainik Board in writing.

Last Date

Last Date for PMSS New Applications is extended till 30th April 2021.

FAQs

1. Is the copy of Discharge Book necessary along with application form?
No, Discharge Book is not to be enclosed with application form. Only Annexure 1 of Application Form duly signed by Secretary / Director of ZSB / RSB / Coast Guard HQs to be enclosed with application.

2. Can I get scholarship if I am a civilian/ward of Para-military personnel/Ward central armed forces police?
No, this scholarship is awarded to the wards and widows of Ex-servicemen who have served in Army, Navy, Air Force and Coast guards.

3. Is seeding of student’s Aadhaar card with student’s Bank Account Number is necessary for scholarship?
Yes, it is mandatory requirement for payment of scholarship.

4. How to convert CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) / GPA (Grade Points Average) / CPI (Cumulative Performance Index) for calculating the aggregate percentage.
Conversion formula is generally given in the original mark sheet issued by the university. If not provided, please search the Google and results are available as how to convert.

5. If I fail in any subject /semester/academic year, can I get scholarship even if I clear my subject in subsequent attempts?
No. All subjects / semesters /academic year have to be cleared in first attempt

  2. I’m going to write NEET exam this year! As my father passed away while he was in service(Navy)!But in our service particulars ,the word ‘ATTRIBUTABLE’ is nowhere mentioned!Now what should I do! To whom should I ask for the priority! As per my view I’m coming under 3rd priority (Category 3 – Wards & Widows of ESM / Ex Coast Guard personnel who died while in service for causes attributable to Military)
