Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute is pleased to announce a call for Applications for Shastri Research Student Fellowship (SRSF) for Bachelor, Masters, M. Phil, doctoral students and post-doctoral scholars enrolled in degree programmes in recognised Indian & Canadian Universities.

Fellowship For Doctoral Students

Doctoral fellowship will be awarded to the students enrolled in Doctoral programmes in India or Canada with a significant focus on India/Canada, to enable them to access relevant research material as well as conduct research in India/Canada which will subsequently help them to get their degree.

Eligibility

** Doctoral students must be registered/admitted for full-time PhD in an Indian/Canadian university
** Applicant’s synopsis should have been approved by competent authority before the last date of submission of application with SICI.
** The applicant’s university/institution must be from member institutions of SICI.

Application Requirements

** Complete application form along with all required documents at GMS Portal.
** Doctoral fellow should obtain ‘Supervisor authorization’ from his/her supervisor/research guide before applying.

** Applicants should provide two reference letters of which one of the letters must be from their thesis supervisor/HoD.

** A letter of invitation/affiliation from the host faculty is must and the affiliate should be from member institution of Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute.
** The applicant should possess proficiency in oral and written English, and should preferably be in the age group of 21-35 years.

Fellowship For Post-Doctoral Student

Post doctoral fellowship will be awarded to scholars from India and Canada who have been awarded a Ph.D. degree and wish to pursue further research in India/Canada.

The applicants are required to apply for this fellowship within five years of being awarded the PhD degree.

Eligibility

** The applicant must have a doctoral degree awarded by Indian or Canadian University/ institution.
** An applicant must be registered as post doctoral fellow with member Institution of SICI.
** Upon doctoral degree award one can apply and applications must be made within five years of receiving a doctoral degree.

Application Requirements

** Complete application form along with all required documents at GMS Portal.

** Proof of Post-doctoral need to be submitted along with the application form or applicant’s admission to Post doctoral fellowship should have been approved at the time of submitting application;

** Letter of invitation/affiliation from the host faculty is must and the affiliate should be from member institution of Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute;
** Minimum of two reference/support letters to be provided towards your candidature for the award

** Employer’s endorsement’ letter from head of the department/Institution/ with the application;
** The applicant should be proficiency in oral and written English, and should preferably be in the age group of 30-45 years;

** Certificate of Ethical Approval (if applicable).
** Copy of the Passport.
** Incomplete applications will not be entertained

Fellowship Package

The fellowship package will cover-
** Economy class airfare from the place of origin to the place of affiliation in the most direct route
** Visa /Compliance fee
** Overseas insurance
** Research allowance ( applicable to doctoral candidates only and inclusive in stipend)

Instructions

** All the Grants/Fellowships will be subject to receipt of funds from MHRD, Govt. of India.
** *Shastri Institute reserves the right to change Fellowship amount and number of awards.

** The maximum limit to upload individual file on GMS Portal is 1 MB. Kindly compress your files if exceeding 1 MB size.

** Canvassing in any form will result in disqualification.
** The decision of Adjudicators with respect to awards will be considered as Final decision.

Application Deadline

Last date to submit Shastri Research Student Fellowship is December 17, 2019 by 5:00pm (IST).
