Advertisement regarding application from eligible candidates for National Talent Seach (NTS) State Level Screening Test for Class X and National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) Examination for Class VIII which will be conducted on 7th November, 2015

Directorate of Educational Research & Training, Meghalaya Shillong invites application from eligible candidates for National Talent Search (NTS) State Level Screening Test for Class X and National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) Examination for Class VIII which will be conducted on 7th November, 2015.Last date of submission of Application Forms is 11 September, 2015.

Eligibility to appear at the Examination:
1. National Talent Search(NTS) State Level Screening Test:
0 Candidates currently studying in Class X in any recognized schools. – NMMS Awardees are also allowed to appear for NTS Examination.
0 Candidates should have scored at least 55% (50% for SC/ST) marks in Class VII promotion examination in the last academic examination.

2. National-Means—cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) Examination:
0 Candidates should be currently reading in Class VIII in Govt/Govt. Aided/Local Body Schools.
0 Candidates studying in Kendriya Vidyalayas, Jawahar Navodayas and Residential Schools run by Central and State Government are not entitled for scholarship under NMMS Scheme.
0 Parental Annual Income from all sources should not exceed Rs.1,50,000/- (Rupees One Lakhs Fifty Thousand) only.

Application Forms containing instructions/Admit Cards can be downloaded from DERT website megeducation.gov.in Schools may take photocopies of the Application Forms or contact the office of the District School Education Of?cer (DSEO/Sub Divisional School Education Officer) of respective district. Filled in Application Forms with Admit Cards along with supporting documents such as Mark Sheet, SC/ST, disability Status Certificates (for both NTS & NMMS) from Competent Authority and Income Certificates (for NMMS only) are to be submitted to the DSEO/Sub Divisional School Education Officer of the respective districts. Application forms without supporting documents will be rejected.

Documents to be submitted along with Application Forms:
a) PhotoCopy of Progress Report/Report Card of the last promotion examination.
b) Photocopy of SC/ST Certificate for SC/ST candidates.
0) Disability Status Certificate from the Competent Authority for NTS/NMMS (if any)
d) Income Certificate for those who apply for NMMS

Read instruction carefully before filling up the Application Form.
1. Use only Blue or Black Ball Point pen. WRITE IN CAPITAL LETTERS. Do not mark or write outside the boxes.
2. Leave one box blank between two words. Limit your name and/or address within the space provided for it. Please see example as given below.
3. Cross(x) only one of the appropriate boxes in items nos. 4,5,6,7,10,11 and 21.
4. Please write code number in items nos 12, 13,14, 15 and 16 as given overleaf.
5. It is the responsibility of the candidate and the principal of the school to deposit the filled in form with the state concerned Officer before the last date. No request for condoning delay in submission will be entertained whether it is due to the fault of the Candidate or the Headmaster/Principal of his/her institution.
6. Incomplete or defensive applications are liable to be rejected.

Document to be submitted along with Application Forms:
a) Xerox copy of Progress Report/Report Card of the last promotion examination
b) Xerox copy SC/ST Certificate for SC/ST candidates.
c) Disability Status Certificate from the Component Authority (for NTS/NMMS)
d) Income certificate for those who apply for NMMS.
