Meghalaya Education NMMSS

Directorate of Educational Research & Training, Meghalaya Shillong invites application from eligible candidates for National Means-cum Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) Examination for Class VIII which will be conducted on 3rd November, 2018.

Meghalaya Scholarships 2018-19 :

1. NTSE National Talent Search Examination

2. Pre-Matric Scholarship For ST Students

3. Post-Matric Scholarship For ST Students

4. CSSS Central Sector Scholarship Scheme

5. NEC Scholarship Fresh & Renewal For SC/ST Students

6. Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship For Minority Students

7. Post Matric Scholarship For Minority Students

8. Pre Matric Scholarship For Minority Students

Eligibility

** Candidates currently reading in Class VIII in Government, Government Aided and Local Body Schools.
** Candidates should have scored at least 55% (50% for SC/ST) marks in Class VII Promotion Examination.

** Candidates studying in Kendriya Vidyalayas, Jawahar Navodayas and Residential Schools run by Central and State Government are not entitled for scholarship under NMMS Scheme.

** Parental Annual Income from all sources should not exceed 1,50,000/- (Rupees One Lakhs Fifty Thousand) only.

Application Process

Step 1 : Application Forms containing instructions can be downloaded from DERT website or contact the Office of the District School Education Officer (DSEO) or Sub Divisional School Education Officer (SDSEO) of respective District /Sub-division.

Step 2 : Complete filled in Application Forms along with the supporting documents should be submitted to the respective DSEOs/SDSEOs and NOT TO DERT SHILLONG

Application forms without supporting Documents and incomplete information will be rejected.

Documents Required

** Two Passport size (School uniform)
** Mark Sheet/ Report Card,
** SC/ST Certificate,
** Disability Status Certificates from Competent Authority and
** Income Certificates are to be submitted to the DSEO/ SDSEO of the respective District/Sub-division.

Exam Pattern

The examination will be conducted in two sessions on the same day. You have to take the examination as per details given below
1. Mental Ability Test (MAT)
2. Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT),

The Applicants are requested to refer/consult State Liaison Officer for the composition of the test.Each question carries 1(one) mark.

Important Dates

** Last date of submission of Forms by the candidates to the District School Education Officer/Sub-Divisional School Education Officer is on or before 28th September, 2018.

** Allotment of Roll No. and issue of Admit Card to the candidates is on or before 24th October, 2018 by the DSEO/SDSEOs and NOT BY DERT, SHILLONG.

** The District School Education Officers/Sub-Divisional School Education Officer will have to submit the complete Application forms in original along with the statement of the candidate applied for the above examination to the Director, Educational Research & Training on or before 5th October, 2018.

Instructions

** Make Sure that the Admit card is not detached from the Application Form. Admit Card will be sent to the Chief Superintendent of the Examination Centre after allotting the Roll Numbers.

** Candidate can collect the Admit card from the Centre Superintendent of the Examination Centre at least one week before the examination.

** Reach the Examination Centre at least half an hour before the commencement of the Examination; and occupy the seat that bears your Roll Number.

** DO NOT take Mobile Phones, Calculator, Mathematical or Physical table or any other kind of ready reckoned to the Examination Hall.
** Write your Roll Number, as given in the Admit Card, on the Answer Sheet and on the Cover Page of the Question Booklet in the space provided.

** All questions in the booklets are objective type. For each question, Four possible answers are given, but only one is correct. Your task is to find out the correct answer and mark your choice in the Answer Sheet

** Record your answer-using Ball Point Pen only. Hand over your Question Booklet and Answer Sheets to the Invigilator before you leave the Examination hall.
