Meghalaya Pre Matric Scholarship

Applications are invited from students who are permanent residents in the state of Meghalaya studying within & outside the state of the year 2018-19.

The scholarship at pre-matric level will encourage parents from minority communities to send their school going children to school, lighten their financial burden on school education and sustain their efforts to support their children to complete school education.

Eligibility Criteria

** Students from notified minority communities viz. Muslims, Christians. Sikhs, Buddhist, Zoroastrians(Parsis) and Jains

** Students must be permanent resident of Meghalaya.
** Students studying from classes I-X are eligible.
** Annual family income of the applicant should not exceed one lakh.

How to Apply?

The scheme is implemented through National Scholarship Portal (NSP). It is mandatory for all students to apply online on the website of this Ministry i.e. scholarships.gov.in.

Steps :
Step 1 : Go to the official website of National Scholarship Portal

Apply Online : https://scholarships.gov.in/

Step 2 : For Fresh Registration students click on the New Registration link in the home page and Fill the required details to complete your Registration.

Step 3 : For Renewal case, Students Click the Login link and enter your Application Id, Password, Captcha image for Login. Then complete your renewal process.

Note :
The scholarship, once awarded, may be renewed during next academic year of the course on the production of certificate that the student has secured 50% marks.

Rate Of Scholarship

Actual financial assistance will be provided for admission/tuition fee and maintenance allowance as given below subject to a maximum ceiling indicated against item concerned

3.	Maintenance allowance is payable for a period not exceeding 10 months in an academic year.
	(i) Class I to V	Nil		Rs. 100/- per month
	(ii) Class VI to X	Rs. 600/- per month subject to actual.		Rs. 100/- per month

*Hostellers include students who are staying in hostel of the school/institute concerned or those provided by the State Government/Union Territory Administration concerned.

Conditions For Scholarship

** Scholarship will not be given to more than two students from a family
** Students should be regular in attendance for which the yardstick will be decided by the competent authority of the school.

** Income Certificate; Income certificate from the employer for employed parents/guardian or Certificate to be issued by the Competent Authority declared by the State Government/ UT Administration.

** Migration of student from one school/institute to another would not normally be during the course of academic year except under exceptional circumstances and in the interest of student’s academic career.

** If a student violates school discipline or any other terms and conditions of the scholarship, scholarship may be suspended or cancelled.

Last date for submission of Online application for Fresh and Renewal scholarship by students is 31st October 2018
