Objective

The craft design fellowship is open to designers and young professionals to develop a range of new products for the terracotta craft community of Gundiyali.

How to Apply?

Just follow the below steps to for the Craft Colaborative Fellowship 2018.

Steps :
Step 1 : Go to the official website provided above and then click on the “Application” link in the menu bar.
Step 2 : Fill in all the details in the online form and Submit the application form along with any previously designed products’ photos (if any).

Step 3 : Email applicant’s Portfolio to Email address – craftcolaborativefellows [AT] gmail.com
Step 4 : Results of the Fellowship will be intimated to the awardee fellows for the year 2018 via requisite contact channels

Note :
** Applicant’s email on step 3 should include a Letter of Intent (email body/attachment) and Portfolio as prescribed.

Selection Process

The selection is conducted in a two-stage process
Stage 01 : shortlisting of potential candidates on the basis of merit of the proposal and key abilities to achieve the proposed.

Stage 02 : The selected candidates will be informed via email and an interview (physical or skype) will be conducted for the final selection.

Important Dates

** Opening of the call – 20th October 2018
** Last day of submission – 20th November 2018
** Results of the fellowship – 25th November 2018
** Field work commences – 1st December 2018
** Fellowship ends by – 15th January 2019

1. What are the kind of products one can design during the fellowship?
You can design any of the following: traditional products, utilitarian products, a product for spaces, fashion products, technology with terracotta, Market friendly products

2. What are the expected outcomes of the fellowship?
The idea is to develop a range of minimum 10 products using the traditional craft techniques and knowledge of the craftspeople of the Gundiyali cluster. It is mandatory to develop the product range in collaboration with the craftspeople of Gundiyali.

Each product must be commercially viable and must bring some economic and social gain for the craft community of Gundiyali.

3. What is the fellowship amount and what all does it cover?
Each fellow will receive a fellowship amount of Rs 25000. This includes the cost of travel, stay and honorarium for the fellow, Any material or craft technique related support will be provided on the field by the organisations.

4. How long the stay would be?
The stay depends on the nature of your project: its production process. The stay will have to be mutually agreed upon by the fellow, the craftspersons family and the organisation.
