University Grants Commission invites applications for Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship For Persons with Disabilities for the year 2018-19.

Who Can Apply?

** Any student with disabilities who has been admitted to M.Phil./Ph.D. degree in a University or academic institution by completing the required formalities for admission in that University or academic institution is eligible.

** The candidate must get himself/herself registered for M.Phil/Ph.D at the first available opportunity but not later than within a period of two years from the receipt of award letter.

** After two years, if the progress in the research works of the awardee is found satisfactory, his/her tenure will be extended for a further period of three years as Senior Research Fellowship (SRF). The research work will be assessed by a three member committee set up by the University.

** The students with disabilities once considered eligible for the fellowship shall not be entitled to any other benefits from Central or State Government or any other body.

How to Apply?

Just follow the below steps to apply for the Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship For Persons with Disabilities 2018-19.

Steps :
Step 1 : Go to the official website of University Grants Commission through the URL provided above.
Step 2 : Read the instruction carefully and Click on the “Apply Now” button in the menu bar.

Step 3 : Accept the terms & conditions and Click on “Proceed for Registration” button to continue with registration.

Step 4 : Next, Fill-in Personal Information including caste and disability certificate. A candidate registration id is generated that can be used for generating a pdf file once submission process is completed.

Step 5 : Fill-in Research Work including subject,research topic, department etc.
Step 6 : Fill-in Other Information including Scholarships/Present employment etc.
Step 7 : Accept the declaration and finally click on “Submit” button

Documents Required

Mandatory attachment required during submission of online form
1. Domicile Certificate
2. Scanned Copy of Disabilities Certificate
3. Caste Certificate (in Case of SC/ST/OBC) issued by competent authority viz. Tehsildar/SDM etc.
4. Scanned Copy of Candidate’s Recent Color Photograph And Signature
5. Scanned Copy of Master Degree Mark sheet

6. Declaration/Certificate from Head of Department/Institution or competent authority of the University/Institute/College to the effect of forwarding of application and necessary facilities will be provided to the candidates during research of M.Phil/Ph.D. respectively(from the research place where candidate has already registered for M.Phil/Ph.d)

Amount Of Fellowship

The candidate would be eligible for following financial assistance

Fellowship (For All Subjects) @Rs.16000/-p.m. for initial two years
@Rs.18000/-p.m. for remaining tenure
Contingency (For Humanities, Social Sciences and Commerce) @Rs.10000/-p.a. for initial two years
@Rs.20500/-p.a. for remaining tenure
Contingency (For Sciences and Engineering & Technology) @Rs.12000/-p.a. for initial two years
@Rs.25000/-p.a. for remaining tenure
Departmental Assistance [Discontinued as per pattern of e-payment towards RGNF-SC/ST and MANF] @Rs. 3000/- p.a. per student to the host
institution for providing infrastructure
Escorts/Reader assistance @ Rs. 2000/- p.m. in cases of physically
handicapped & blind candidates
HRA As per rules of the University/ Institutions

  3. I am a visually impaired candidate. I have applied for the RGNFD Scholarship 2018. When I entered my user ID for checking the status, the system shows that my user ID does not exist. Therefore, I request to guide me about what to do next?

      Rajivgandhi national fellowship for disabilities for the year 2018-19 . The UGC WEB PORTAL already opened or not . Ple let me know.
      2018 October after that NFPWD IS NIT OPEND. When we will expect open for the year 2019 .
