Hazel Morris Scholarship:

The Nowgong Mission High School have been serving the people since 1846 and now by the grace of God we are pleased to announced that the school is achieving a new heights in its history of good service to the society by introducing Hazel Morris Scholarship for needy students irrespective of religion.

The objective of the scheme is to award scholarship to the meritorious students belonging to economically weak parents to enable them to pursue education from Nursery to class X.

In one academic year only 20 numbers of seats will be allotted under this scheme and 5 no of seats will be earmarked for girl child. In the case of non availability of girl students for the allotted seats the remaining seats will be allotted to the eligible boy students.

The scholarship holders will bear by themselves the full Admission and re-admission fees and other fees including Books, notebooks, Library fees etc. this scheme of scholarship is only meant for monthly Tuition Fees.

Conditions for Scholarship:
(a) To be eligible, students should have not less than 60% marks in the annual examination. In the case of Nursery to class I students only the income criteria of parents would be applicable. 60% is the minimum criteria to be eligible to apply. The selection will be carried out purely on merit basis.

(b) The annual income of parents or guardians from all sources should not exceed Rs. 1 lakh.

(c) A scholarship holder under this scheme will not avail of any other scholarship/stipend for pursuing the same course. In case if the scholarship holder is selected for the government or any other scheme of scholarship the matter must be reported to the school authority and his/her scholarship will be cancelled immediately.

(d) Scholarship will not be given to more than one child in a family irrespective of the beneficiaries whether they are school’s employees or non-employees child.

(e) A pupil must secure 80% of attendance in a year.

(f) Any scholarship holder students is found guilty of misbehaving with anyone, fighting with peers, stealing or involved in such other unlawful activities are liable to strike out his/her name from scholarship roll for the first 6 months, if there is no signed of improvement/change then the scholarship will remain cancelled for the entire academic year/ or may be denied the scheme for the entire period of studies in the school. (g) In case of student failure to secure 60% of marks in the annual examination the student scholarship will be discontinued for the next year. However, if the student performance is improved again and secure the required percentage then he/she can apply for renewal of the scheme for the next new academic session.

(h) The application (both Fresh and Renewal) must be submitted in the month of January every year. Application can be collected from school office after 10th December.

(i) The student who is seeking renewal of the scholarship must enclose their final exam Progress Report Card in the application form.

Documents to be enclosed with the Application Form:
1. Mark sheet of last annual examination.
2. Birth Certificate.
3. Income declaration affidavit on non judicial stamp paper worth Rs. 10/- along with the approval of competent authority for the said income in separate sheet for self employed parents/guardians or income certificate from the employer for employed parents/guardians. (Not applicable for school’s employees).
4. In the case of school staffs ward a written application for recommendation must be submitted to Administrator. And the application recommended by Administrator must be enclosed with the Scholarship application form.
5. Proof of permanent residence. (Not applicable for school’s employees).
6. Receipt in acknowledgement of scholarship in the previous year duly signed by the Administrator (in the case of renewal).
7. Church recommendation letter from the respective local pastor, and in the case of non-Christian student a character certificate from Gazette officer.
8. Income Certificate must be renewed and submitted in every three years.
