Post Matric Scholarship :

The objectives of the schemes are to provide financial assistance to the parents of students with disabilities for studying in the pre-matric level and post-matric level. The financial assistance includes scholarship, book grant, escort/reader allowance, etc.

Eligibility Criteria :
(a) A citizen of India
(b) A person with disability having not less than 40% disability and having a disability issued by any competent medical authority.
(c) Not more than two disabled children of the same parents will be entitled to receive benefits of the scheme. Provided in case the second child is a twin, the scholarship under this scheme will be admissible to both the twins.
(d) Scholarship for studying in any class will be available for only one year. If a student has to repeat a class, he/she would not get scholarship for that class for a second (or subsequent) year.
(e) A scholarship holder under this scheme will not hold any other scholarship/stipend.

Annual Parental/Guardian’s Income:
Scholarship will be paid to the students whose parents/ guardians’ income from all sources does not exceed Rs.2,50,000/- (Rupees two lakh fifty thousand only) per annum in case of Post-matric scholarship scheme.

Value of Post-Matric Scholarship:
The value of Post-matric scholarship includes the following for complete duration of the course

(i) Maintenance allowance,
(ii) Additional allowance for students with disabilities, for the complete duration of the course, and
(iii) Reimbursement of compulsory non-refundable fees,
(iv) Study tour charges,
(v) Typing/printing charges for preparing Reports/projects,
(vi) Book allowance for students pursuing correspondence courses,
(vii) Book bank facility for specified courses

Procedure of Application & Selection:
a) The Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities will announce the details of the scheme and invite applications by issuing an advertisement in the leading newspapers and through the websites and other media outfits. Applications will be called for through National e-Scholarship Portal (

b) The applicants should submit their application through the online system within the last date prescribed for receipt of applications. All requisite documents like photograph, proof of age, disability certificate, income certificate of the parent, etc. duly filled in the prescribed format will be required to be uploaded in the on-line system.

  1. I am from Gadag, Karnataka state. I am a PWD candidate. Now this year, I am completed IInd PUC Science. I got 82% and in JEE exam 477 rank and in NEET exam 902. I got both engineering and medical seats in Govt quota. But I want to do Aerospace engineering. This year I get E&C in IIIT Dharawad. But I am not interested in E&C. So I decided to take coaching class for next year JEE exam. So is there any help for my coaching class from you department?
