Scholarship for X & XII Pass Students:

The objective of ‘NTPC Utkarsh’ – Merit scholarship for students passed X and XII Standard is to encourage the deserving brilliant students from the economically weaker and marginalized section of community in target villages of NTPC Projects / Stations for further education and to create competitive spirit among the students.

The scheme is also aimed to recognize the efforts of the parents in promoting education among girls and to provide encouragement to girl students.

2. Eligibility :
** Scheme will be applicable to students (excluding NTPC wards) from the economically weaker and marginalized section of community in target villages of NTPC Projects / Stations having total family income not exceeding Rs 3.00 Lac pa (in case of SC/ST/PC Rs 6.00 Lac pa)

** On Passing X and on passing XII in first attempt from Govt. schools, Govt. aided schools in target villages of NTPC Projects / Stations and from schools run in NTPC town ship.

3. Selection criterion :
** Eligible students securing highest marks / grade in X standard, one student each from General, SC/ST, Physically Challenged (PC) and girl category at each school.

** Eligible students securing highest marks in XII standard, one student each from General, SC/ST, Physically Challenged (PC) and girl category for each stream at each school.

4. No. of scholarship and amount
** X Standard: 4 students at each school @ Rs 3000 pa
** XII Standard: 4 students for each stream at each school @ Rs 3000 pa

5. Administration of the scheme and Selection procedure :
** Scheme will be implemented by NTPC Project /Station.
** NTPC shall circulate details of the scheme in village development & advisory committee (VDAC), among Sarpanches and to the head of eligible institutions to notify the scheme appropriately among the students by displaying on notice boards / announcements etc.
** Head of institutions will invite application from the eligible students securing highest marks in X or XII as per scheme notified.
** Eligible students may apply to the respective Head of Institution in the prescribed form along with supporting documents (Annexure – l/A).

** Head of institution shall scrutinize the application received and select the students for “NTPC Utkarsh’ – Merit scholarship as per notified scheme. It will be responsibility of head of institution to verify eligibility of the student, caste & disability certificate etc.
** Head of institution shall forward application of the students along with their recommendation for award of ‘NTPC Utkarsh’ – Merit scholarship to Head of HR of respective Project /Station.
** After necessary internal approval, Project /Station HR shall disburse scholarship amount to the selected students.

6. Publicity / Visibility of NTPC :
** NTPC project / Station shall give wide publicity to the Scheme so that community at large in target villages is benefited.
** Distribution of scholarship in NTPC / Institute function will be suitably covered in media to enhance visibility of NTPC CSR.

7. General :
** The Scheme will not entail upon NTPC any liability for employment.
** NTPC reserves the right to make any changes or withdraw the Scheme(s) at any point of time as and when felt necessary and relaxation on case to case basis.

8. Powers to amend the Scheme :
D (HR) will be authorized to make any changes or withdraw the Scheme(s) at any point of time as and when felt necessary and relaxation on case to case basis.
