Pre-Matric Scholarship For ST Students :

To support parents of ST children for education of their wards studying in classes IX and X so that the incidence of drop-out, especially in the transition from the elementary to the secondary stage is minimized, and

Related / Similar Scholarship : Tribal Post Matric Scholarship 2016-17

To improve participation of ST children in classes IX and X of the prematric stage, so that they perform better and have a better chance of progressing to the post-matric stage of education.

Scope:
Scholarship under the Scheme will be available for studies in India only and will be awarded by the Government of the State/Union Territory to which the applicant belongs i.e. where she/he is domiciled.

Conditions of Eligibility:
(i) Student should belong to Scheduled Tribe
(ii) Her/his Parents’/Guardian’s income should not exceed Rs. 2.00 lakh per annum.
(iii) She / he should not be getting any other Centrally-funded Pre-Matric Scholarship.
(iv) She/ he should be a regular, full time student studying in a Government School or in a School recognized by Govt. or a Central/State Board of Secondary Education.
(v) Scholarship for studying in any class will be available for only one year. If a student has to repeat a class, she / he would not get scholarship for that class for a second (or subsequent) year.

Annual Parents’/Guardian’s Income:
Scholarships will be paid to the students whose parents/guardians’ income from all sources does not exceed Rs. 2,00,000/- (Rupees two lakh only) per annum.

Value of Scholarship:
The value of scholarship includes the following for complete duration of the course:-
(i) scholarship and other grant,
(ii) additional allowance for students with disabilities studying in private un-aided recognized Schools.

Selection of Candidates:
(I) All eligible Scheduled Tribe candidates will be given scholarships as prescribed in this scheme
(ii) Candidates belonging to one State but studying in another State will be awarded scholarships by the State to which they belong and will submit their applications to the competent authority in that State.

Application Procedure:
(i) An application for scholarship should comprise:
(a) One copy of the application for scholarship in the prescribed form (separate application forms as have been prescribed for ‘fresh’ and renewal scholarship by concerned States/UTs).
(b) One copy of the passport size photograph with signatures of the student thereon (for fresh scholarship).
(c) A certificate (in original) of Scheduled Tribe duly signed by an authorized Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar.

(d) An income declaration by the self-employed parents/guardians, stating definite income from all sources by way of an affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper. Employed parents/guardians are required to obtain income certificate from their employer and for any additional income from other sources, they would furnish declaration by way of an affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper.

(e) A receipt in acknowledgement of the scholarship in the previous year on the form attached to the application only duly counter-signed by the Head of the Institution/School concerned, if the applicant was in receipt of a scholarship under this scheme in the preceding year.

  2. Cyber capes are charging 300+ rupees for registration of scholarship form which is a huge amount for poor students. Can’t it be done through PC or mobile? Please guide.

    My daughter in class-xii wants to renew her scholarship but forgotten her id/registration number of last year. Can she apply fresh? If not how can she know her last year id/registration number?

    1. Yes, you can enter.
      The length of the Account Number has been increased sufficiently.

  8. I got message that my application is not verified by institution. How can I proceed further to get verified?

  9. I have received a message that my scholarship is not verified by Institute level. How can it be possible because I am a student of DNGC itanagar studying in B.A 5TH sem. Can you please tell what’s the matter because last year I got the scholarship. Then why does this happening now?

    1. That is because your institute did not verified. You have to submit the form which was generated after final submission or ask at your institute’s scholarships section.
