National Children’s Fund (NCF) is created under Charitable Endowments Act, 1890 with an objective to mobilize resources from the community and utilize the interest accruing from investment of these resources for financial assistance to implement programmes for the welfare and development of children.

Further under the revised guidelines issued in 2016, NCF is to provide scholarship to orphans and distressed children of Child Care Institutions (CCIs) in order to give opportunities to talented children for their academic pursuits and also to motivate such talented children.

All CCIs duly registered under Section 41 of the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015 (under Rule 21 made therein) are requested to forward the applications of eligible students with requisite documents, etc., as per the revised guidelines issued on 22nd June, 2016, (available at https://nipccd.nic.in/ to nationalchildrenfund@gmail.com or to the following address:

The students residing in CCIs and fulfilling the following criteria may apply for scholarship:
1. Child who is an orphan or destitute and residing in a Child Care Institution and has done well in his previous academic session by securing at least 70% marks.
2. Child not receiving any assistance on regular basis from any other sources towards her/his education.
3. Child having a joint bank account with the In-charge of CCI, in case the beneficiary is below 18 years.

About us :
The Department of Women and Child Development, Government of India, came into existence as a separate Ministry with effect from 30th January, 2006, earlier since 1985 it was a Department under the Ministry of Human Resources Development.

The Ministry was constituted with the prime intention of addressing gaps in State action for women and children for promoting inter-Ministerial and inter-sectoral convergence to create gender equitable and child-centred legislation, policies and programmes.

  1. Tell me if a person who is an orphan but in child care institution can apply or not.

      Child who is an orphan or destitute and residing in a Child Care Institution and has done well in his previous academic session by securing at least 70% marks can apply for scholarship.
