Scholarship & Prizes as mentioned in the enclosed various schedule are to be awarded to Wards of the University Employees.

The employees of the University whose wards are eligible for the awards are requested to submit their applications for the same in the prescribed form
1. Dr. Alzira Roger Borges Scholarship :
** The Dr. Alzira Roger Borges Scholarship of the value of Rs.2,550/- is awarded annually to the deserving child of permanent karmachari’s of University who stands first in the Std. Xth amongst the children of the University Karmachari’s to enable him/her to pursue higher education (for XIth Std. in any faculty or any diploma course).
** Applications for the award of the Dr. Alzira Roger Borges Scholarship for the year 2016, are hereby invited from the Permanent University Karmachari’s whose son or daughter has passed the Xth Std. examination held in March, 2016 and has pursued higher education for XIth Std. in any faculty or any diploma course.
Application Procedure :
The prescribed application forms of the said scholarship should be obtained and submitted to the

Mumbai – 400 098,
Oon working days (except Second & Fourth Saturday) between 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. and 1.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. free of charge, from 1st July, 2016 onwards, so as to reach him not later than 31st August, 2016, supporting by a certificate from the concerned Director/Head of the University Department and the Registrar of the University where the Karmachari is working testifying that he/she is an permanent employee of the University.
2. The Laxman Krishna Ambardekar & Smt. Nirmala L. Ambardekar Prize :
Applications are hereby invited from eligible candidates for the ‘Laxman Krishna Ambardekar & Smt. Nirmala L. Ambardekar Prize’ of the value of Rs.2,125/- in cash to be awarded for the year 2016, to a candidate who secures the highest number of marks on the aggregate at the H.S.C. examination of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education held in March, 2016 and who are pursuing their studies further for any of the following courses conducted by the University of Mumbai / Board of Technical Education, Maharashtra State, from among the son/daughter of persons who are Permanent Employee belonging to Class III and Class IV categories of this University :-
Courses:
1. Engineering
2. Pharmacy
3. Diploma Course in Engineering & Technology (any branch) of the Board of Technical Education, Maharashtra State.
4. Chemical Engineering.
Application Procedure :
A copy of the prescribed form of application for the prize may be obtained by eligible candidates from the Scholarships Section, University of Mumbai, Room No.35, First Floor, M. J. Phule Bhavan, Vidyanagari, Kalina, Santacruz (East), Mumbai – 400 098, on working days (except Second & Fourth Saturday) between 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. and 1.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. free of charge, from 1st July, 2016 onwards. Last date of acceptance of the application forms is 31st August, 2016.
3. Shri Ajay Bhatt S. Vadhyar Prize :
** The Shri Ajay Bhatt S. Vadhyar Prize of the value of Rs.1,000/- in cash, is awarded annually to a son or daughter of the University non-teaching permanent employee in service or retired who passes the T.Y.B.Com. examination of this University held in first half of every year at the first attempt and secures the highest number of marks in the special subject of ‘Financial Accounting & Auditing’ i.e. out of 300 marks) at the said examination from among those who apply the prize.
** Applications for the award of Shri Ajay Bhatt S. Vadhyar Prize for the year 2016, are hereby invited from the eligible candidates who have passed the T.Y.B.Com. examination of this University held in March, 2016 and who are desirous to apply for the same.

Phule Bhavan, Vidyanagari, Kalina, Santacruz (East), Mumbai – 400 098, on working days (not on Second & Fourth Saturdays also) between 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. and 1.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. free of charge, from 1st July, 2016 onwards. Last date for submission of the applications is 31st August, 2016.
