Velammal Chairman Merit Scholarship

Velammal Chairman Merit Scholarship scheme is introduced to encourage children with sports talent /extraordinary talent/academic excellence to pursue quality education in Velammal Matriculation Schools under Velammal New Gen Park Schools.

Total number of scholarships seats available for this academic year is 125 numbers. The scholarship to be renewed every year based on the performance of the student.

Eligibility:
i. Students eligible for the scholarship:
a. Students with excellent sports track records / art, music and dance track records / academic excellence in board exams in State / National level.
b. Wards of the VET employees and its subsidiary companies are not eligible to apply.

100% scholarship:
The scholarship is admissible for the expenditure on payment of school Admission Fee, Facilities Fee, Tuition Fee, Books, Notebooks & Uniform Fee.

Scope:
Scholarship under the scheme is available only for the Indian origin students. Scholarship is applicable for the students of Non Velammal Matriculation Schools under Velammal Educational Trust.

Scholarships:
The 125 scholarships will be offered to students pursuing Samacheer boards for the classes VI and XI.

** Velammal Matriculation School, Mambakkam : Class VI – 25 Seats

** Velammal Matriculation School, Guduvancherry : Class VI – 25 Seats

Category of Scholarship (Students of V & X in the academic year 2015-16)
i. All sports categories with minimum number of prizes won on Zonal/Divisional/District/State/National/International level.
ii. Talent categories in Art, Music, and dance with minimum of prizes won in State/National/International / well organized events and forums of reputed concerns.
iii. Academic Excellence.

Guidelines
i. Wards of Velammal Educational Trust employees and its subsidiary companies are not eligible to apply.
ii. The renewal of scholarship for subsequent years will be based on their performance in their respective categories and as well as based on the good conduct and regularity in attendance.
iii. A student granted scholarship for one category would not be entitled to scholarship for another category.
iv. If an applicant granted scholarship on the basis of the statement made in the application is at any subsequent date found to have made a false statement in any respect, will forfeit the scholarship and no application would be entertainment in the future. In addition, the scholarship already granted would also have to be refunded.

Selection Criteria

Note:
i. All the applications will be scrutinized by the screening committee to shortlist the applicant for Entrance Test.
ii. The shortlisted candidates will get hall ticket through courier for appearing the Velammal Chairman Merit Scholarship Common Entrance Examination (VCMSCEE).
iii. VCMSCEE is common for all the scholarship categories.
iv. The VCMSCEE pattern is objective type question on Literacy & Numeracy
v. Level of the examination is based on the class in which the student studying.
vi. The overall performance of the candidate will be awarded the “Velammal Chairman Merit Scholarship”
