Scholarship Scheme :

SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME FOR SC STUDENTS :
Scholarship will be paid to the students whose parents/guardians income from all sources not exceed Rs. 2,00,000/- per annum to the extent of reimbursement of all compulsory payable non refundable fees.

Students from BPL families, having the lowest income shall be given preference in the ascending order.

Scholarship Scheme For Minority Communities Students :

ELIGIBILITY :
Scholarship will be awarded to the students who have secured not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination and the annual income of whose parents/guardian from all sources does not exceed Rs. 2.00 lakh.

Distribution :
Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists and Zoroastrians (Parsis) have been notified as minority communities under Section 2 (c) of the National Commission for Minorities Act, 1992. The distribution of scholarship among the States/Union Territories will be made on the basis of population of the above notified minorities in the States/ Union Territories of Census 2001.

Earmarking For Girl Students :
30% of scholarship will be earmarked for girl students. In case sufficient number of eligible girl students are not available, then the balance earmarked scholarships may be awarded to eligible boy students.

Selection Procedure :
Unlike scholarship for SC and ST, there are a fixed number of scholarships for minorities is small and limited. Students from BPL families, having the lowest income shall be given preference in the ascending order. The renewal applications would be fully exhausted before the new applications are considered.

Scholarship Scheme For Students With Disabilities :

TRUST FUND :
Under this scheme, 1000 Scholarship are provided to eligible differently-abled students for degree and post graduate level professional and technical courses from recognized institutions in India.

National Fund :
Under this scheme, 500 Scholarship are provided in a year to the students with disabilities for pursuing post metric professional and technical courses of more than one year duration.

Income Limit :
The annual income of the beneficiary/parent or guardian of beneficiary should not exceed Rs. 3.00 lac and Rs. 1.80 lac respectively under Trust Fund and National Fund.

Scholarship Schemes implemented in the Department :
Scholarship Scheme for SC Students :

Scholarship Scheme for OBC Students :
Students whose income combined with the income of their parents/guardians does not exceed Rs.1,00,000/- per annum shall be eligible for post-matric scholarship to the extent of reimbursement of all compulsorily payable non-refundable fees.

The value of scholarship will include maintenance allowance, reader charges for blind students, reimbursement of compulsory non-refundable fees, Study Tour Charges, Thesis typing/printing charges and book allowance for students pursuing correspondence course, for complete duration of the course.

(I) Visually Handicapped
(Ii) Hearing Handicpped
(Iii) Orthopaedically Handicapped
(Iv) Multiple Handicapped
(V) Mentally Handicapped
(Vi) Cerebral Palsy
(Vii) Other Categories. A
Person Suffering From A Disability Not Covered Under Definitions Mentioned Above, Which Is Certified By A Registered Medical Practitioner To Have The Effect Of Permanently Reducing Considerably Such Persons Capacity For Normal Work Or Engaging In A Gainful Employment.

Eligibility Requirements :
I. Nationality: A Disabled Person Who Is A Citizen Of India May Apply For Scholarship Under This Scheme.
Ii. His/Her Family Should Have Resided In Ut, Chandigarh Continuously For Three Years Immediately Before Making The Application.
Iii. Scholarship Will Be Provided To All Categories Of Disabled Persons Defined Earlier For Pursuing General, Technical And Professional Education From 9Th Class Onwards.

Educational Requirement :
A Disabled Person Will Be Eligible For The Award Of Scholarship For Study From 9Th Standard Onward. He/She Should Have Secured At Least 40% Mark At The Previous Annual Examination.
