The B.S. Abdur Rahman “India in a Classroom” Scholarship 2026–27 is an initiative of the B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science & Technology, Chennai. It is open to students from all states and union territories seeking admission to undergraduate programmes at the Institute’s Chennai campus. The programme is designed for students from Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Muslim communities. Last date of application is 12th August 2026.
Eligibility of B.S. Abdur Rahman India in a Classroom Scholarship
** The applicant must belong to a Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) or Muslim community. A valid caste or community certificate is mandatory.
** Annual parental income must not exceed ₹5,00,000 from all sources. An income certificate issued by a competent authority is mandatory.
** The applicant must have passed Class 12 and secured, or be seeking, admission to an undergraduate programme at the Chennai campus of B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science & Technology.
** Class 12 marks must meet the cut-off prescribed for the applicant’s board — see the table below.
** For engineering programmes, the cut-off applies to the aggregate percentage of the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics combined. For all other programmes, it applies to the total Class 12 aggregate.
** The applicant’s date of birth must fall between January 2004 and December 2009.
** Applicants must meet the subject requirements and admission norms of the programme they are applying to.
** Candidates who have completed Class 12 through open schooling boards like NIOS, are not eligible for this scholarship.
** Applicants from all states and union territories of India may apply.
