What is WBMDFC Merit-Cum- Means Scholarship?

West Bengal Minorities’ Development & Finance Corporation (WBMDFC) is inviting an application for Merit-Cum- Means Scholarship for Academic year 2025-26. Merit-cum-Means Scholarship is awarded to the minority students for pursuing professional /technical courses at graduation and post-graduation levels in institutes located in WB and affiliated to any board/university under Govt. of West Bengal. Students will get scholarships upto ₹33,000. Last date of application is 28th February 2026.

Eligibility Criteria of WBMDFC Merit-Cum- Means Scholarship

1) Applicant must be a domicile of West Bengal.
2) The students must have got admission in a technical/ professional course.
3) Must have secured at least 50% marks in the last Higher Secondary/Graduation Examination.
4) Annual Family Income upto Rs.2.5 Lakh.
5) Students residing in West Bengal but pursuing studies in the institutes outside West Bengal are not eligible (Except listed institutes).

How To Apply For WBMDFC Merit-Cum- Means Scholarship?

Receiving of online application will be co-terminus with that of West Bengal Higher Education department WBHED every year. Application must be submitted online www.wbmdfcscholarship.in. The applicant is required to take a printout of the application and submit the same to respective institution with a copy of the Bank Pass Book.

** One student can file one Government scholarship application form
** Don’t submit more than one scholarship application form to avoid duplication and rejection
** Apply for scholarship with your own bank account details.
** Bank Account Holder’s name and scholarship applicant’s name should duly match.
** Keep your bank account active.
** Do not apply for scholarship with someone else’s bank account.
** Do not use a bank account which is de-active.
** Try to open preferably bank account in
** Nationalised/Scheduled Bank (e.g. SBI, PNB, INDIAN Bank, Try to avoid opening of bank account in Virtual bank like Paytm

** Keep active RMN (Registered Mobile Number) Do not change your RMN mobile number
** Upload Correct Income Certificate for SVMCM scholarship as required
** Do not submit Annual family income Certificate not exceeding ₹2.5 lakhs to be issued by any gazetted Officer not below the rank of Joint BDO(SVMCM).
** Submit printed copy of your application form along with a photo copy of Bank Account Passbook to your institute. Do not forget to submit printed copy of application form along with a photo copy of Bank Account Passbook to your institute.

(1) Admission and tuition fee are subject to actuals
(2) Hostellers include students not staying in hostel of the institute concerned but are staying as paying guest or on rent
(3) Maintenance allowance is payable for a period not exceeding 10 months in an academic year
(4) Full course fee may be reimbursed for the listed institutions

Applications with respect to WBMDFC Merit-Cum- Means (MCM) Fresh and Renewal Scholarship applications for the Academic year 2025-26 can be made till 28th February 2026. (Last Date).
