What is Odisha Shahid Madho Singh Haath Kharcha Scheme?

Odisha ST & SC Development, Minorities & Backward Classes (MBC) Welfare Department has launched a new scheme Shahid Madho Singh Haath Kharcha Scheme with an aim to reduce dropout rate among ST students. Under the scheme a one-time incentive of Rs. 5000/- will be provided to ST students getting enrolled in class IX & class XI. This incentive amount is envisioned to encourage greater enrolment and completion of Secondary and Higher Secondary education by ST students. Last date of application is 31st December 2024.

Eligibility of Odisha Shahid Madho Singh Haath Kharcha Scheme

** Students should belong to Scheduled Tribe community and shall be a permanent resident of Odisha.
** The annual income of the family of the students from all sources should not exceed Rs.2,50,000/- (Two lakh Fifty Thousand only).
** The student shall be pursuing her/ his education in any Govt. or Govt. Aided High School and Higher Secondary School within the state

Category : ST
Class/Courses: Class IX and Class XI
Family Income : Parents/ guardian’s from all sources shall not exceed Rs. 250000.00 ( Two Lakh Fifty Thousand ) per annum.

How To Apply For Odisha Shahid Madho Singh Haath Kharcha Scheme?

To apply the Odisha Shahid Madho Singh Haath Kharcha Scheme scholarship, eligible students need to follow the below given steps:

Steps:
Step-1 : Register at https://scholarship.odisha.gov.in/ , if you are new user. Existing user can click on the login button.
Step-2 : Enter the Aadhaar number and Proceed.
Step-3 : Login in with your User ID and Password to apply for the scheme.
Step-4 : Click login link at the portal and enter User ID and password to apply the scholarship.
Step-5 : Please choose the Department name and Scheme name.
Step-6 : Provide all necessary details like student, academic, eligibility, and bank information.
Step-7 : Click on the “Save as draft” button to draft the information or click on “Next” button to save and proceed the scholarship form.
Step-8 : The preview of the completed form will appear on the page. Download the forms and take its print out.

Note:
** This scheme has been made operational in the current academic year 2024-25
** This scheme is applicable for only Scheduled Tribe students whose annual family income is not more than Rs.2,50,000/- (Two lakh Fifty Thousand only).
** ST students who have taken admission in class IX & class XI will receive a one- time incentive amount of Rs.5000/-
** This scheme is applicable for ST students of only Govt. and Govt. Aided High School and Higher Secondary School within the state.
** The incentive amount will be provided directly in the bank-account of eligible student
** Concerned Principal/ HM of the Higher Secondary School/ High School will recommend and sanction the application of eligible students directly to Department through Odisha State Scholarship Portal.
** All eligible students/ parent are therefore requested to submit copies of student’s caste certificate, Aadhaar and first page of bank-passbook along with income certificate of parent to their school Principal/ HM at the earliest.
