What is IET India Scholarship Award?

IET India Scholarship Award 2024 is sponsored by Institution of Engineering and Technology. The IET India Scholarship Award recognises and nurtures future engineering leaders of India. The 8th edition of the IET India Scholarship Award is accepting applications now. In our previous edition, we received phenomenal response from engineering students across the country. From all these participants, this year, Ms Pragati Bhattad emerged as the national winner and was awarded the scholarship worth ₹3,00,000. To be eligible for the Scholarship Award, applicants must be students of first, second, third or fourth year full time B.Tech programmes in India. Last Date of Scholarship is 31st May 2024.

Eligibility for IET India Scholarship Award

** Any first, second, third year and fourth year full time regular UG Engineering student from an AICTE/UGC approved institution. (Open to students across all engineering branches as recognised by the AICTE/UGC.)
** All regular credit courses must have been cleared in a single attempt by the applicant.
** UG marks should be at least 60% in aggregate for the semesters cleared so far or corresponding to CGPA of at least 6.0 in a 10 point scale
** There is no age limit for the applicant.
** Application is open to IET members, as well as non-members.
** Students from AICTE/UGC approved Institutions and national institutes are eligible to apply for scholarship.

Prize Summary of IET India Scholarship Award

There will be 5 regional presentations at 5 different locations (Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai)
The scholarship awarded for the regional rounds will be as follows:
Regional Round: Winner – Rs 60,000 + Certificate + IET Membership
Runner Up – Rs 40,000 + Certificate + IET Membership

Winners of the regional round will compete in the national finals:
Winner: Rs 3,00,000 + Certificate + IET Membership
1st Runner Up: Rs 1,70,000 + Certificate + IET Membership
2nd Runner Up: Rs 1,50,000 + Certificate + IET Membership

NOTE : If a student wins the scholarship both in Regional and National level he/she will be awarded Certificate for both the levels and the prize money for national level only.

FAQ on IET India Scholarship Award

Q. Where is the online test conducted?
The online test will be conducted on the scholarship platform itself (https://scholarships.theietevents.com/#). You need to login with your registered email address and password to access the exam module.

Q. I am not able to book a slot for my online test?
Please do NOT attempt to book the test slot now. The test booking window will open for 3 days – 26th June to 28th June. Please go to https://scholarships.theietevents.com/# to login and book your time slot.

Q. Will I get an email just before the test slot booking?
You will receive a follow-up email on June 24th reminding you to book your timeslot. We strongly suggest that you book your test slot as soon as you can, within this time window.

Q. What happens after I book my slot?
You will get a confirmation email to your registered email id containing the date and time of your exam booking. In case you have booked your slot but not received an email confirmation, write to scholarships[AT]theiet.in

Q. What are the dates for the online test?
The online test will run from 3rd July to 5th July.

Q. My credentials do not match. What can I do?
You should use the same email address and the password that you received in your registered email address at the time of application submission. Remember the password is of 8 characters with a special character at the end. Please do NOT attempt to reset your password.

Q. What are the subjects / syllabus of the Online test?
You will get questions from the following 7 subjects:
** Physics
** Chemistry
** Mathematics
** Computer science
** Electrical Engineering
** Electronics
** Mechanical

Q. What kind of questions will I get, what is the syllabus, how do I prepare for the online test?
There is no reference question bank, model question paper or pre-defined syllabus – the complexity / difficulty level of the questions will largely correspond to the semester you are currently studying in.

Q. How long with the exam last?
The duration of the exam is for 70 minutes with an additional 2 minutes (at the start of the exam) for a quick introduction to IET and familiarizing yourself with the test instructions.

Q. Are there any special requirements for the Online test?
You only need a stable internet connection, and we suggest you use a laptop or a PC for the test (not a mobile phone / tablet). The online test needs to be completed in one sitting. We highly recommend you find a location that allows you to fully concentrate on the test, where you will not be disturbed for the duration of the test.

Q. Am I required to pay any charges for the online test?
No, you are not required to make any payments for the Online test.

Q. What happens after the online test?
You will be notified from IET India via email about the results of your test.

Q. Are there any fees/charges to apply or take part in the Online Test?
IET India does not charge any fees for applying to the IET India Scholarship Awards or for participating in the Online Test.
