Schaeffler India Social Innovator Fellowship Program
The Schaeffler India Social Innovator Fellowship Program is an initiative of Schaeffler India to recognize and reward individuals who are developing unique solutions that have the potential to positively impact society at scale.
Under this fellowship program, a total of 11 individuals between the age of 18 to 30 years will be provided with fellowship grants worth INR 15 Lakh.
Schaeffler India deals in high-precision components and systems in engine, transmission, and chassis applications, as well as rolling and plain bearing solutions for a large number of industrial applications.
Eligibility
** Applicants should belong to the age group of 18 to 30 years (as on 1st September 2021)
** Should be a resident of India
Important Note :
1. Early-stage start-ups or NGOs with functioning prototype can participate
2. The entries must not just be a concept, idea or mock-up, it needs to fulfil following 3 requirements
** Must be solving a social challenge
** Should carry sustainability angle
** Should have scaling possibilities
3. The project MUST NOT be an established commercial venture
4. Participants also need to submit the entries describing their work in the form of video that can be uploaded on the website
5. The project must be related to any of the below categories
** Transforming Education for the underprivileged
** Health & Nutrition
** Renewable Energy and Environment
** Water Conservation
** Waste Management
Benefits
** As many as 11 projects will be awarded with a total grant of INR 15 Lakh.
i. INR 5 Lakh grant for 1 winner
ii. INR 1 Lakh grant each for 10 awardees
** An opportunity for residential mentorship at a premium college/institution to help the winners to further develop and scale their solutions.

How Can You Apply?
Follow the steps below to apply for the scholarship
** Click on the Apply Now button below
** Login to Buddy4Study using registered ID. This will navigate the students to the ‘Online Application Form” page
** If not already registered on Buddy4Study – register using the email id/mobile phone number/Facebook/Gmail account
** Once logged in, the students will then be redirected to the “COVID Crisis Support Scholarship” application form page
** Click on the ‘Start Application’ button to begin the application process
** Fill in the required details in the online scholarship application form
** Upload the required documents
** Click the ‘Accept’ button for terms and conditions. Students must ensure that they have read the terms and conditions before accepting it.
** Click the ‘Preview’ button. If all the details filled in by the applicant are displaying correctly on the preview screen, click on the ‘Submit’ button to complete the application process.

** An idea pitch deck in PDF format with size less than 4 MB (optional)

Selection Process
A multi-stage selection process will determine the winners of the Social Innovator Fellowship Program 2021.
The selection stages are mentioned below
1 All eligible applications will be reviewed and scored basis the following criteria:
** Solving a social challenge
** Sustainability & scalability
** Technology-based idea (a mobile app, device) having a positive impact on the underprivileged
** Stage of idea implementation towards the impact
2. Telephonic interview and document verification
3. Semi-final round by Schaeffler India team
4. A project pitch presentation to Jury panel & leaders (organized by Schaeffler India team) and final interview
FAQs
1. When will the results of this fellowship program be announced?
The fellowship announcement and induction to the online/residential mentoring program in partner institutions will take place in January 2022 (tentative).
2. How many fellowships are awarded under this fellowship program?
A total of 11 fellows will be selected for this fellowship program out of which the winner will receive a grant of INR 5 lakh and the remaining 10 fellows will receive grants of INR 1 lakh each.
