KVPY Fellowship
The Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, offers attractive fellowships (Rs.5,000/- Rs.7000/- p.m.) and contingency grants (equivalent to four months fellowship per annum) to students studying in 1st year program in basic science course such as B.Sc./B.S./B. Stat./B. Math./Int. M.Sc./ Int. M.S. Selection to the program takes into account the academic excellence and skills to take up research career in Basic Sciences.
Eligibility
Stream SA
Students enrolled in XI Standard (Science Subjects) during the academic year 2020-21 and have secured a minimum of 75% (65% for SC/ST & PWD) marks in aggregate in MATHEMATICS and SCIENCE subjects in the X Board examination are eligible to appear for the aptitude
Test. The fellowship of the students selected under this stream will be activated only if they join for an under graduate course in Basic Science (B. Sc./B.S./B. Stat./B. Math./Int. M.Sc./ Int. M.S. ) in the academic year 2022-23 after having secured a minimum of 60% (50% for SC/ST & PWD) marks in aggregate in Science Subjects in the XII Standard /(+2) Board Examination. During the interim period of one year they will be invited for National Science (Vijyoshi) Camp and their travel expenses and local hospitality will be met by KVPY.
Stream SX
Students enrolled in XII Standard / (+2) (Science Subjects) during the academic year 2020–21 and aspiring to join undergraduate program in Basic Sciences (B.Sc./B.S./B. Stat./B. Math./ Int. M.Sc./ Int. M.S.) for the session 2021–22 during the academic year having secured a minimum of 75% (65% for SC/ST & PWD) marks in aggregate in MATHEMATICS and SCIENCE subjects in the X Standard Board Examination are eligible to appear for the aptitude test.
The Fellowship of the students selected under this stream will be activated only if they join for an undergraduate course in Basic Science (B.Sc./B.S./B. Stat./B. Math./ Int. M.Sc./ Int. M.S.) in the academic year 2021-22 after having secured a minimum of 60% (50% for SC/ST & PWD) marks in aggregate in SCIENCE subjects in the XII standard/(+2) Board Examination.
Stream SB
Students enrolled in the 1st year of B. Sc./B.S./B. Stat./B. Math./ Int. M.Sc./ Int. M.S. during the academic year 2020–21 and have secured a minimum of 60% (50% for SC/ST&PWD) marks in aggregate in SCIENCE subjects both in the XII Standard / (+2) Board Examination and 1st year of B.Sc./B.S./B. Stat./B. Math./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.S. are eligible to appear for the aptitude Test.
Empowerment initiative in the KVPY Fellowship Program:
I For students belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe:
A certain number of fellowships exclusively for the meritorious SC/ST students under the various streams as stated above will be operated .
II Empowerment initiative for Persons With Disabilities:
A certain number of fellowships under various streams as stated above will be operated for deserving Persons With Disabilities-Physically and Visually challenged students.
How To Apply?
** Applications are invited from Indian Nationals. However, as per the interim order (Final Order awaited) of the Hon’ble High Court of Karnataka OCI/PIO Students will be allowed to write the KVPY Aptitude Test 2020.
** The KVPY fellowship is available to the students who have enrolled as a regular students of UG Program in Basic Science course in any College/Institution of a University recognized in India.
** Students may apply Online at http://www.kvpy.iisc.ernet.in clearly indicating the stream (i.e., SA/SX/SB).

Application Fee
** For General category Rs, 1250/- (Rupees one thousand two hundred and fifty only) and Rs.625/- (Rupees six hundred twenty five only) for Students belonging to SC/ST/Persons With Disabilities. Application fee once paid will not be refunded.
** KVPY reserves the right to postpone the aptitude test due to any reason, including the prevailing situation arising from the coronavirus pandemic.
** A computer based online version of the aptitude Test will be conducted at the selected cities.

Documents Required
** Caste certificate issued and duly signed by the competent authority (GOI) in the prescribed proforma in the case of students belonging to SC/ST.
** Medical certificate from the prescribed authority (GOI) in the case of physically and visually challenged students certifying the percentage of disability.
** Scanned photo & signature.
