Applications are invited from bonafide Indian citizens, residing in India for award of “DBT-Junior Research Fellowship” (DBT-JRF) for pursuing research in frontier areas of Biotechnology and Life Sciences.

Eligibility

Qualification :
M.Sc./ M.Tech./ M.V.Sc. or equivalent degree/ Integrated BS-MS/ B.E./ B.Tech. in any discipline of Biotechnology, M.Sc./ M.Tech. Bioinformatics/ Computational Biology, students admitted under DBT supported Postgraduate Teaching Programs. M.Sc. Life Science/ Bioscience/ Zoology/ Botany/ Microbiology/ Biochemistry/ Biophysics and Masters in Allied areas of Biology/Life Sciences. Candidates appearing in the final year examination are also eligible to apply.

Marks :
Minimum 60% marks for General, EWS & OBC category and 55% for SC/ ST/ Differently abled in aggregate (or equivalent grade).

Age Limit :
Upto 28 years as on the last date of application for General & EWS category. Age relaxation of up to 5 years (33 years) for SC/ ST/ Differently Abled/ women candidates and upto 3 years (31 years) for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates.

Steps for Registration for BET 2020 are as follows :
** Register to create a Profile
** Login with system generated User ID and Password
** Submit Application, process payment.

Step 1 : Registration to get User ID and Password
** Go to RCB official website.
** Then click on ‘BET 2020- Apply Online’
** Then click on `New Registration’, you will be directed to registration form.

** You will also receive the User ID and Password as an SMS on the registered mobile number. Using these credentials, you may proceed to complete your application.

Note :
The entries in registration form cannot be changed once submitted, hence, ensure that you enter the required information correctly.

Step 2 : Fill Application Form
Registered Users Click on `Applicant login’ for Application form with User ID and password received on your email and mobile number.

The Application Form is categorized into the following four sections :
1. Personal Details
2. Qualification Details
3. Document Upload
4. Declaration

Note :
Please note after the form is submitted, payment has to be made for the test. You can login by visiting official website https://www.rcb.res.in/ and proceed with your payment.

Documents Required

Upload Mandatory Documents :
** Upload your recent passport size photograph (Maximum 80 Kb size, in JPG/JPEG format)
** Upload your recent scanned signature (Maximum 80 Kb size, in JPG/JPEG format)

** Upload your Date of Birth Proof as per guidelines (Maximum 150 Kb size, in JPG/JPEG format). Date of Birth Proof can be the DOB certificate in English or if in regional language then a declaration in English; SSC Certificate; PAN Card; Aadhar Card; Passport.

** Upload your Qualifying Marks Certificate and Applicants appearing for Exam in 2020 have to upload scan copy of form in qualifying exam certificate duly filled and signed by HOD/HOI (Maximum 150 Kb size, in JPG/JPEG format).

** Category/Caste Certificate (Maximum 150 Kb size, in JPG/JPEG format).
** Differentially Abled Certificate (Maximum 150 Kb size, in JPG/JPEG format).

Applicable Test Fee

** General, EWS and OBC category – Rs. 1000/-
** SC, ST and Differentially abled – Rs. 250/-

Mode Of Selection

** The candidates will be selected through “Biotechnology Eligibility Test (BET)”. Based on the performance in BET, two categories of merit list will be prepared (Category-I and Category-II).

** Government of India norms for reservation will be followed for selection. Candidates selected under category-I will be eligible to avail fellowship under the programme.

These will be tenable at any University/Institute in India where the selected candidate registers for PhD Programme.

** Candidates selected under Category-II will be eligible to be appointed in any DBT sponsored project and avail fellowship from the project equivalent to NET/GATE, subject to selection through institutional selection process.
