Applications are invited for State Level National Talent Search Examination, 2019-20 to be held on 03-11-2019.

Who Can Apply?

** Students studying in Class X during 2019-2020 in any recognized schools of Odisha are eligible to appear National Talent Search Examination.

** They must have passed Class IX Annual Examination securing at least 60% of marks or equivalent (relaxable by 5% for reserved categories). There will be no domicile restriction.

How to Apply?

Just follow the below steps to apply for the National Talent Search Examination 2019-20.

Steps :
Step 1 : Go to the official website of Directorate of Teacher Education & SCERT Odisha through the URL provided above.

Step 2 : Read the instructions carefully and click on the Apply Online button in the right side of the page.

Step 3 : Then Select the Examination Type and fill the application form with the following details
** Enter Your Personal Details
** Enter your Postal Address for Correspondence
** Enter the Name and Address of the Institution in which studying at Class X level

** Select the Type of Institution/School in which studying at Class X level
** Select Your Medium of Examination
** Enter Your Family Details
** Enter Your Contact Details

Step 4 : Enter the Captcha image code and Click on Submit button

Step 5 : After filling up of the Application Form online, he / she is required to take the printout of the same and submit it to the concerned Headmasters.

Step 6 : The Headmaster will forward it to the concerned District Education Officer.

Step 7 : The District Education Officer will allot the Examination Centre, scrutinize and verify all the documents and put the auto generated twelve digit roll number and validate the Online Application Form.

Note :
The Admit Card will be prepared at TE and SCERT which can be downloaded by the Candidate / Institution for appearing the Examination.

Documents Required

Documents to be submitted along with the online application Form
** Caste Certificate, as applicable, for SC / ST / OBC (SEBC) candidate issued by the concerned Tahasildar / Additional Tahasildar.
** Disability Certificate for Physically Handicapped candidates issued by the concerned District Medical Board.

Exam Details

National Talent Search Examination, 2019-2020 will be conducted in two stages.

Stage – I :
State Level National Talent Search Examination will be conducted on 03.11.2019 (Sunday) for selection of candidates to National Talent Search Examination.

Stage – II :
National Level Talent Search Examination will be conducted by NCERT for candidates selected through Stage – I. The National Level written examination will be conducted on 2nd Sunday, i.e 10th May 2020.

Examination Fees

The candidates are not required to pay any examination fee. However, they shall have to bear their own expenses for coming and going to Examination Centre to appear at the examination.

Examination Pattern

The State Level NTSE, 2019-2020 will consist of Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)

Mental Ability Test :
Mental Ability Test (MAT) consists of 100 multiple choice items on reasoning and critical thinking to be answered in 120 minutes. The questions may be on analogy, classification, numerical series, pattern perception, hidden figures etc.

Scholastic Aptitude Test :
Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) consists of 100 multiple choice items (40 questions from Science, 40 questions from Social Science & 20 questions from Mathematics) from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, History, Geography, Political Science and Economics to be answered in 120 minutes.

Scholarship

There are 1000 scholarships for the entire country. Awardees of NTS Examination will receive scholarship up to Ph.D. level in Basic Sciences, Social Sciences and Commerce and Post Graduation level in Engineering, Medicine, Management and Law subject to satisfactory academic progress.

The rate of scholarship is indicated below :
a) Scholarship of Rs.1250.00 per month for Class XI and XII
b) Scholarship of Rs.2000.00 per month for under graduates and postgraduates
c) Amount of scholarship for Ph.D. in accordance with the UGC norms.

Time Schedule

** Online filling up of Application Forms by candidates and submission of hard copies in schools by students 01.08.2019 to 25.08.2019
** Submission of countersigned hard copies of Application Forms by the Headmasters / Headmistress to the DEOs 26.08.2019 to 05.09.2019
** Validation of Application Forms by District Education Office 06.09.2019 to 25.09.2019
** Download of Admit Cards by the Candidates 20.10.2019 to 03.11.2019
** Date of Examination 03.11.2019 (1st Sunday)
