Professor Ghanashyam Dash Scholarship For Higher Education:
The scholarship has been instituted by IMFA in the memory of Late Prof Ghanashyam Dash who was a renowned scholar and historian.

To facilitate higher education in Engineering & Medical courses four (4) scholarships are awarded every year-two (2) each for the children of permanent employees of the Company and meritorious students from economically weak families who are permanently domiciled in Odisha.

The scholarship covers 90% of academic fees and related expenses for the entire duration of the course with an annual limit of ` 75,000 per student.

The students who take admission in professional degree courses (ie. Bachelor of Engineering / Technology or MBBS) in the following institutes are eligible for the scholarship :
a) SCB Medical College, Cuttack
b) MKCG Medical College, Berhampur
c) VSS Medical College, Burla
d) All IITs and NITs
e) VSS University of Technology, Burla
f) College of Engineering & Technology, Bhubaneswar
g) Odisha School of Mining Engineering, Keonjhar
h) Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology, Bhubaneswar
i) Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology, Sarang, Dhenkanal
j) Central Institute of Plastic Engineering & Technology, Bhubaneswar
k) Government College of Engineering , Kalahandi
l) International Institute of Information Technology, Bhubaneswar
m) Parala Maharaja Engineering College, Berhampur While it is not binding on scholarship recipients to be associated with IMFA after completing their studies, preference will be given to anyone who qualifies for a suitable vacancy.

Those applying for the scholarship should not have availed any other financial support at the time of application or do so subsequently if they are selected. However, onetime awards are not restricted although the Scholarship Committee should be promptly informed.

Eligibility:
Category I :
1. This category is open to children of permanent employees of the Company who draw a basic pay of equal to or less than Rs. 6,500 per month. A potential recipient must meet other criteria as specified in the scheme.

2. The payment of scholarship shall be discontinued in the event of separation of the employee (the parent of the student) either due to resignation or on being dismissed/discharged from the services of the company. The scholarship shall, however, continue to be paid in the event of retirement/superannuation of the employee or his/her death.

Category II (Others) :
1. The annual income of the parents of the applicant must be equal to or less than Rs. 1.50 lakhs per annum.
2. Preference shall be given to students belonging to SC/ST and physically challenged categories.

Payment Of Scholarship:
Depending upon the payment terms of the concerned institute, reimbursement will be made to the concerned employees or to the parents of the student or directly to the Institute of study as decided by the Scholarship Committee.

Application Procedure:
Category I – Employees are required to apply to Scholarship Committee, IMFA Building, Bhubaneswar – 751010, Odisha by 10th November every year attaching copies of the relevant admission documents and other supporting documents including Pass Certificate/Mark Sheet, etc of the qualifying examination. This will be reviewed by the Scholarship Committee whose decision shall be final and binding. After being chosen as a recipient, the student has to submit relevant supporting documents at the end of every semester or half yearly/annually depending upon the payment terms of the Institute.

Category II
– Applications should be submitted to “Scholarship Committee, IMFA Building, Bhubaneswar – 751010, Odisha in the prescribed format available online at www.imfa.in/social-responsibility/scholarship.htm or www.bipf.org.in/scholarship.htm by 10th November every year and must include attested copies of the following documents

Documents:
1. Mark sheet of qualifying examination i.e. Class XII / Senior Secondary.
2. Admission documents in Engineering/MBBS.
3. Income certificate of parents from the Tahsildar/Competent authority.
4. Domicile certificate from the Tahsildar/Competent authority.
5.Caste certificate (in case of SC/ST students) from the Tahsildar/Competent authority.
6.Certificate of Physical disability, if applicable, from the District Medical Board/ Competent authority.
7. A recent passport size colour photograph. After being chosen as a recipient the applicant has to submit relevant supporting documents at the end of every semester or half yearly/annually depending upon the payment terms of the Institute.

The decision of the Scholarship Committee with respect to any aspect of the scholarship such as eligibility of the candidate, continuation of scholarship after the initial acceptance, submission of documents as mentioned above or as may be asked later, etc. shall be final.

Selection Procedure:
The Scholarship Committee will evaluate all applications which shall normally be ranked on the basis of rank/percentage of marks secured in the qualifying examination. However, the Committee will also take into account the financial status of the applicants in arriving at the final decision. The decision of the Committee shall be final and binding and cannot be challenged in any court of law.

General Terms And Conditions:
1. The performance of the scholarship recipient shall be reviewed every year/academic session for continuance of the scholarship. A minimum of 6.0 OGPA (Overall Grade Point Average) or 60% marks in the semester/ annual examination as the case may be shall be required for continuance of the scholarship in Engineering course. The medical student should come in 80th percentile in the semester/annual examination as the case may for continuance of the scholarship. Normally no revival shall be permitted in the event of discontinuance of scholarship unless the Scholarship Committee is convinced about extremely extenuating circumstances. The decision of the Committee in this regard shall be final and binding and cannot be challenged in any court of law.

2. The scholarship recipient must promptly notify the Scholarship Committee of any changes in his/her academic status that occurs during the year. Any break instudies will normally lead to discontinuation of the scholarship unless it is approved by the Institute and prior permission is granted in writing by the Scholarship Committee.

3. The Scholarship Committee may also decide to discontinue the scholarship in case of any adverse report from the Institute about his/her conduct or extreme circumstances such as conviction by a Court of Law, etc.

4. The payment of scholarship amount is at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee and cannot be challenged.

5. The Scholarship Committee shall have the express right to modify and/or substitute any part of the scheme or the whole scheme and/or withdraw the scheme in totality without prior notice and without assigning any reason whatsoever.
