Vivek Merit Scholarship

In last few years, Vivekananda Yuba Samity (VYS) has taken up a few major initiatives for the welfare of the society. As part of our ongoing efforts, VYS plans to implement the VIVEK Merit Scholarship Scheme from 2009.

The objective of this scheme is to provide scholarships to the brilliant but economically challenged students studying in Class-XI and higher class for their future studies. It is expected that such needy students can pursue their studies and can achieve equalization of educational opportunities and finally a suitable employment.

We will also consider sponsoring the higher education of a few outstanding students out of those who may get opportunity through “ALL INDIA ENTRNACE EXAMINATION” such as in Medical/Engineering/ MBA/CA/IAS/IPS etc. Rest of the students who will complete Graduation/Post Graduation, may be suitably advised for further higher studies so that they get a suitable employment as per their educational qualification.

The duration of scholarship will be for 5 years and may be extended for further higher studies depending on study course and availability of fund.

The rate of scholarship :

1. Class XI & XII for 2 years – Rs.10,000/-
2. Degree Course for 3 years- Rs.15,000/-
3. Further Higher Study for 3 years -Rs.20,000/-

The members of the Expert Panel Committee will monitor their academic progress on regular basis. Further we will make necessary arrangements to enable the sponsor to make one-to-one interaction with the scholars.

Every four months, VYS will remit the money directly to a bank account to be opened jointly in the name of the student and their parents. This supports all their educational expenses.

There is no dearth of talent or resolve among the deprived, and we have been witnessing it again and again. This fact has only strengthened our commitment to stand by the ones who have the merit but not the means to aim high. Powered by their will and your continued support, VYS steps forward.

While we are making sincere efforts to do a little for the society, we also appeal to all sympathetic individuals and/or organizations to extend a helping hand to this initiatives by sponsoring one or more students for their present studies as well as for their future higher studies.

We have been receiving regularly applications from the eligible candidates to get our scholarship. We are also in process of verification work for the aplications already received. The eligible candidates obtained at least 70% marks (please see the Guidelines of the Project) may submit their formal application in plain paper attaching therewith xerox copy of their Secondary/Higher Secondary/Degree Course results for our further proceedings in the matter. Please note that no recommendation from any sources/individual will be entertained and if found so in the application, the application will be rejected.

The students are hereby advised to go through the Project Guidelines which has been linked on the bottom of this page, before submitting their application.
