H T Parekh Memorial Scholarships (HTPMS):
The HT Parekh Memorial Scholarships (HTPMS) being run by the Trust since 1995, in memory of its late founder trustee, offers scholarships to academically bright girl students selected mainly from municipal schools to continue their studies up to graduation or its equivalent for vocational courses. The scholarship holders are selected post standard VII, based on their performance at merit scholarship examinations and top rankers in schools and SSC examinations. The Trust’s programme is supplemented by the interest received on the BCPT-HT Parekh Memorial Corpus Fund. From 1995 till 2014, a total of 147 students have received scholarships. In 2013-2014, 37 students received scholarships.

Rajni Patel Memorial Foundation (RPMF) Awards:
Awards are given to the top two students from MCGM schools who secure the highest percentage of marks in the SSC examinations.

Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation (NSF) Higher Secondary Award:
Since 2005, BCPT has been administering this Award given primarily for the higher secondary and higher education levels on the basis of merit and need. NSF also provides mentors for the students.

HDFC Scholarships For Under-Privileged Youth:
Initiated in 2006, HDFC Ltd. gives scholarships to around 60 students for their post SSC studies on the basis of need and merit. Special developmental workshops are also held for the students.

Anand Bhatt Memorial Fund:
The Fund recognizes merit and excellence amongst students studying law. A student who stands first at the first attempt in the solicitors’ examinations conducted by the Bombay Incorporated Law Society is selected to receive a cash award.

NGO Development:
For capacity building of managerial personnel of NGO functionaries, a general annual 2-3 day workshop is conducted (e.g. Strategic Planning). For other functionaries, training progammes are organised on project or need based (e.g. Life skills training for school teachers). Customised training workshops for specific project(s) are also arranged on request. Sharing of manuals and other teaching aids developed, setting up networking meetings to share best practices and disseminating project learnings are other ways used to build NGO capacities.

Medical Relief:
Medical assistance to those in need has been possible through ‘The Major Khushru Mistry Medical Relief Fund’ set up in BCPT in 2008 by Mrs Homai Mistry and Mrs Pearl Tiwari, in memory of their son and brother respectively.

Disaster Relief:
Disaster relief work began in 2003 in the post Babri Masjid riots. For this cause we work with NGOs, companies and directly with those affected. At the time of the bomb blasts of August 2003, the floods of July 26, 2005, the serial train blasts of July 2006 and the terror attacks of November 2008, BCPT conducted needs assessment and verification. Based on these, grants in cash and kind were given either on a one time basis or on a more sustained basis. In almost all cases we prefered to provide educational, medical support or livelihood training.

Project Implementation:
In some cases BCPT has taken up the task of implementing projects. Sometimes these were sections of larger projects (e.g. preparation of a film on life-skills, as part of the JRD Tata Grant for promoting Mental Health in Schools); in a few occasions, it is the actual implementation (e.g. E.Teach)
