Coal India Scholarship

Before filling the application form read carefully the following important instructions and eligibility criteria failing of which application will be rejected and no communication shall be made in this respect.

1. Application must be received at CCL Hq. Welfare Department, Darbhanga House, Ranchi on or before 30th September every year positively otherwise the application will be rejected.
2. All the Columns of the application Form (Part-I, II & III) must be properly filled in. There must not be any incomplete entry in the application form.
3. Application must be enclosed with true copy of Mark Sheet duly attested by the Head of Institution/Any Gazetted Officer/Divisional/Departmental Head.

4. (a) Eligibility for Merit Scholarship :
Students must secure any rank between 1st to 20th position in the Madhyamik/ICSE/CBSE Examination (X) Standard) or H.S./I.Sc./CBSE (+2) (XII Standard) conducted by State or Central Education Board and furnish Merit Certificate or a Certified Mark Sheet by the Head of the Institution where he/she has studied last specifying the rank of the student, total marks obtained, percentage of marks obtained from the Competent Authority of the State/Central Education Board (either by State or Central Govt.)

(b) Eligibility for General Scholarship :
Application studying in the following Class/Standard must get the following minimum percentage of marks in their last Annual Examination :

(i) Class V to VIII : Minimum 80% Marks in the Last Annual Examination
(ii) Class IX & X : Minimum 75% Marks in the Last Annual Examination
(iii) Class XI & XII : Minimum 70% Marks in the Last Annual Examination
(iv) Graduation in General Stream and post : Minimum 60% Marks in the Last Annual Examination Graduation like B.A., B.Sc., B.Com, M.A., M.Sc., M.Com., MBA, CA, ICWA, Company Secretaryship
(v) Industrial Technical Certificate Course from : Minimum 75% Marks in the Last Annual Examination ITI recognised by State/Central Govt.
(vi) Polytech. i.e. Diploma Engineering course : Minimum 75% Marks in the Last Annual Examination in Govt. recognised Institute
(vii) Degree Course in Engineering and Medical : Minimum 70% Marks in the Last Annual Examination Colleges affiliated to a Govt. Recognised University

(c) Candidates of CBSE/ICSE and other similar type of students must submit their applications showing their percentage of total marks. Simply mentioning the Rank/Point etc. may disqualify the application of a candidate because percentage of total marks is the main criteria for obtaining CIL scholarship.

5. Scholars who receive Scholarship or Stipend from any other source will be granted a Scholarship to the extent the Coal India Limited’s Scholarship exceeds the other Scholarship or Stipend (Not applicable for Merit Scholarship)

Note :
1. Reservation of SC/ST students for General Scholarship : SC/ST students may be given relaxation of 10%.
2. Xerox copy of passbook of Saving Bank Account should be enclosed.
3. Any application which do not conform to above guideline/guidelines will not be entertained for any reason whatsoever.
