Scholarships :

KEI scholarship programs are designed to support students at various stages in their academic life all the way from foundation-building high school to graduate programs. They come with financial support to cover the students various expenses. In conjunction with our mentoring and experiential initiatives, our programs provide a well rounded support infrastructure.

Under Graduate Scholarship :
The organization is, therefore, inviting applications for scholarships from students, who are residents of Kashmir Province, and have secured admissions in Academic Session 2017 through Open Merit in MBBS, BDS, B.VSc, Engineering and Agriculture Professional Degree courses in any of the following Universities / Colleges.

The Colleges covered under Kashmir Education Initiative Scholarship 2017 include Government Medical College Srinagar, SKIMS Medical College Srinagar, Government Dental College Srinagar, NIT Srinagar, University of Kashmir (B.Tech), Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Science and Technology – Kashmir (Under Graduate Courses) and Islamic University of Science and Technology (B.Tech).

The scholarship will offer an annual financial aid for an initial period of one year. In addition to the financial aid, the students will be offered mentorship and career guidance.

Eligibility Criteria:
** The applicant must have secured more than 60% Marks in 10th and 12th Class. Students in 1st Year / 1st Semester of their courses in any of the above mentioned institutions are eligible to apply. The student must also have sought admission based on Competitive Examinations of 2017.
** The total annual household income for the applicants should not exceed Rs. 3,00,000/-. KEI shall verify this information using multiple sources, so candidates are advised to be accurate.
** Students furnishing wrong information and availing the scholarship will face disqualification and disciplinary action. Students receiving financial aid / scholarships from any other source (Government or Private) are also not eligible.

Collection & Submission of Applications:
Application forms can be submitted online from the official website of Kashmir Education Initiative (KEI). Scanned versions of the supporting documents should also be uploaded along with the application form.

The documents to be submitted are as follows:
I. Copy of Marks Certificates of all Board (10th and 12th Classes) and Admission Slip of the current Institute with Rank (Scanned) in the entrance tests.
II. Copy of All India Rank / State Rank obtained in JEE / NEET / CET / UET.
III. Proof of their Household Income (as shown in the Application Form).

Scholarships FAQs:
Do KEI scholarships support religious education?:
KEI does not offer scholarships specifically for religious education. Some KEI scholars might attend schools where some religious education is part of the curriculum – as is the case with many mainstream schools in Kashmir. In determining the beneficiaries of its projects, KEI does not discriminate on the basis of religion, gender, or political orientation.

What is your selection criteria for scholarships?:
The scholarship selection criteria follow a very transparent and scientific approach. Each Scholarship program has its own selection criteria, the main criteria of selection are financial need and academic merit of a student.

Do you only support High School Students?:
We currently have five scholarship projects:
** High School Scholarship provides support to student in grades 9-12.
** Transitional Year Scholarship provides support to students preparing for professional Entrances
** Under Graduate Scholarship provides support to students in Professional under Graduate Degrees
** Post Graduate Scholarship provides support to students in Masters Degree
** Pre-Doctoral Scholarship provides examination and university application support for higher education (e.g. PhD) in US universities.
