Education Department, Chandigarh Administration has decided to award Post Matric Scholarships to SCs and OBCs who are permanent resident of UT, Chandigarh for studies in India under the Govt. of India Scheme.
The scholarship will be open to Indian nationals belonging to SCs and OBCs as notified by the Central Govt./State Govt./ UT Administration. The Major Conditions of eligibility are available at http://socialjustice.nic.in

by the students through their respective institutes alongwith all supporting documents (i.e. copy of residence proof, copy of Aadhaar card/Aadhaar Enrolment slip, Annual fee details verified by Institute, last class pass certificate, copy of bank account in the name of student linked with Aadhaar, income proof issued by Tehsildar, SC /OBC Certificate) etc. by 30.09.2017 positively.
SC Post Matric Scholarship :
Scheme of Post Matric Scholarship for students belonging to Scheduled Castes 2017-18
Condition & Eligibility:
1. The scholarships are open to nationals of India.
2. These scholarships will be given for the study of all recognized post matriculation for post-secondary courses pursued in recognized institutions with the following exceptions :- “Scholarships are not awarded for training course like Aircarft maintenance Engineer’s Courses and Private Pilot license Courses. Courses at Training ship Dufferin (Now Rajendra), Courses of training at the Military College, Dehradun, courses at pre-examination Training Centres of all India and State levels”
3. Only those candidates who belong to Schedules Castes so specified in relation to the State/Union Territory to which the applicant actually belongs i.e. permanently settled and who have passed the Matriculation or Higher Secondary or any examination of a recognized University or Board of Secondary Education will be eligible.
4. Candidates who after passing one stage of education are studying in the same stage of education in different subject e.g. B.Sc. after B.A. or B.Com after BA or MA in other subject will not be eligible.
OBC Post-Matric Scholarship :
Scheme of Post-Matric Scholarship to the Other Backward Classes for studies in India 2017-18
Conditions of Eligibility:
(i) The scholarship will be open to India nationals belonging to OBCs as notified by the Central Govt./State Govt. UT Admn.;
(ii) These scholarship will be given for the study of all recognized post- matriculation or post-secondary courses pursued in recognized institutions with the following exceptions: “Scholarship shall not be awarded for training courses like Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s courses and Private Pilot License curses, Courses at Training –Ship Duffer in (Now INS Rejendra), course of training at the Military College, Dehradun, courses at the Industrial Training Institutes.”
(iii) Only those candidates who belong to OBCs specified in relation to the State /UT to which the applicant actually belongs, i.e. permanently settled and who have passed the Matriculation or Higher Secondary or any higher examination of a recognized University or Board of Secondary Education will be eligible.
(iv) Candidates who after passing one stage of education are studying in the same stage of education in different subject e.g. I. SC after I.A or B.Com, after B.A. or M.A. in a subject after M.A in another subject will not be eligible.
