Merit-Cum-Mean Based Scholarship

Students pursuing Technical/Professional Courses at Under Graduate / Post Graduate level in an institution recognized by an appropriate authority are eligible for Merit Cum Mean based Scholarship for the year 2015-16 to be awarded by the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Govt. of India.

How to Apply

Applications for Merit Cum Means Based Scholarship are to be submitted on-line to www.momascholarship.gov.in.

Submit the Print out of duly filled- in application form to the office of the Director of Higher & Technical Education, Meghalaya, Shillong, along with all supporting documents through their respective institutions.

Application form will be rejected if the hard copy is not submitted to the office of the undersigned. Only Online application under this scheme will be accepted and no request for Offline application will be entertained.

Conditions

i. Annual income of Parents/Guardian – Not to exceed Rs. 2, 50,000.00 per annum.
ii. A Scholarship holder under these schemes will not avail any other scholarship/ stipends for pursuing the course.

iii. Students who have secured not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination both Fresh & Renewal at Higher Secondary/ Graduation / Post Graduation/ Vocational courses level.
iv. Selection of these students will be done strictly in Merit basis.

Documents Required

Students should produce the following documents,
i. Permanent Residential Certificate obtained from the Dy. Commissioner of the District
ii. Mark Sheets
iii. Affidavit on a Non-Judicial Stamp Paper
iv. Minority Community Certificate i.e Christian/ Sikh/ Buddhist/ Parsi/ Muslim.

Important Dates :
Submission of Online application for Fresh scholarship by students is 1st June 2015 – 30th September 2015 and for Renewal scholarship by students is 01st June 2015 – 15th November 2015.

FAQs

1. Who are eligible to apply for Post Matric and Merit-cum Means based Scholarship Schemes?
Students belonging to notified minority communities viz. Muslim/Christian/Sikh/Buddhist/Jain/Parsi (Zoroastrian) studying in India only and fulfilling the Scheme guidelines are eligible to apply for these scholarships.

2. Can I edit the information already saved and upto what time?
You can edit information filled by you until you finalize and submit the online application.

3. Which fields I can edit?
You can edit all fields except a few like parental income, mobile no. email Id, Bank account details etc. It may be noted that once you click on “Finalize and submit” button your application will be forwarded to the next level and then you cannot edit further.

4. How should I open my saved application for editing?
Go to the option “Student Registration -> Update Student Details” then enter your Temporary id, Date of birth and Mother’s name to edit the application.
