Merit-Cum-Means Based Scholarship :

Application are invited by the Ministry of Minority Affairs on online for Merit- cum-Means scholarship for the year 2015-16 from the students belonging to the minority communities notified by the Central Government, who pursuing professional and technical courses in colleges / institutes recognized by appropriate authority.

The financial assistance will be given to pursue degree / post graduate level technical and professional courses from recognized inStitutions. Students belonging to minority community who get admission in technical/ professional courses should have not less than 50% marks at higher secondary/ graduation level. Annual income of the beneficiary/ parents or guardian of beneficiary should not exceed Rs. 2.50 lakh from all sources.

A scholarship holder under this scheme shall not avail any other scholarship / stipend for pursuing the course. Continuation of the scholarship in subsequent years will depend on successful completion of the courses during the preceding year 30% scholarship is reserved for female candidates, if enough women candidates are not available, male candidates will be selected.

The Online Scholarship Management System (OSMS) has already been introduced in the Post-matric Scholarship scheme from the year 2012-13 and the site was accessible through URL www.momascholarship.gov.in. However, from 2015-16, the online implementation of the Post-matric Scholarship will be done through the common National Scholarship Web Portal of the Government of India, under URL www.scholarship.gov.in. A link to the site is also hyper linked with Ministry website www.minorityaffairs.gov.in. Only online applications under the Scheme will be accepted and no request for Offiine applications will be entertained.

As per time line given by the Ministry, last date for submission of Online applications for fresh scholarship by students is till 30th Sept, 2015 and 15th Nov., 2015 in case of renewal cases. The Scrutiny of Online Applications by the Institute is till 20th Oct., 2015 for fresh cases and till 25th Oct, 2015 for renewal cases.

Applicants are also advised to take print-out of the duly filled in application forms, after submitting it Online and to send alongwith all supporting documents through their respective Institutes to the District / State / UT Department.-
i. One copy of passport size photograph with signature pasted on application form
ii. Attested copy of certificates of educational qualifications.
iii. Income declaration-certificate for self-employed parents/ guardian or Income Certificate from the employer for employed parents / guardian
iv. Minority community certificate by the student that he / she belongs to any one of the minority communities notified by Central Government. (Certificate not required to be enclosed for renewal application). Proof of permanent residence (Certificate not required to be enclosed for renewal application if address has not changed].
vi. Receipt in acknowledgement of scholarship in the previous year duly countersigned by the Head of the school / institute. (for renewal case)
vii. Bank Account Number of the Student in any Nationalized Bank to transfer the scholarship amount electronically to the a/c of the beneficiary.
viii . Attested copy of the Aadhar card number.

Scholarship amount as course fee maximum Rs. 20,000/— for not listed institute 85 full reimbursement of course fee charged by the listed colleges and maintenance allowance for Rs. 5,000 / – for Day Scholar 85 Rs. 10,000 / – for hosteller.

Note:
Non-submission of above said declaration/ documents, unsigned, incomplete application shall be liable to be rejected without assigning any reason whatsoever.

Distribution of scholarship by the Ministry for the year 2015-16 among the students belonging to minority community for A&N Islands is 33 i.e Muslims-09, Christian-24, Sikh-o, Buddhist-0, Jain-0 & Parsi-0.
