Scholarship For Student :

** The Institute awards prizes, merit scholarships and merit-cum-means assistance to the meritorious students based on their performance in the Institute’s examination. Merit-cum-Means assistance is granted to economically weaker students to enable them to pursue the course.
** Applicants belonging to SC/ST are required to pay only half the fee chargeable from other applicants.

Merit Scholarship :

In pursuance of para 7 of “Merit Scholarships (Company Secretaryship Course) Scheme 1983”, 15 numbers of scholarships are awarded in each session only to registered students, in order of their merit/rank, from amongst the candidates who appeared and passed in all the the subjects of their respective examination, at first attempt, in one sitting, without claiming exemption in any subject, on all-India basis and subject to other terms and conditions as stipulated under the above Scheme.

Merit-Cum Means Scholarship :

In pursuance of para 8 of “Merit-Cum-Means Assistance (Company Secretaryship Course) Scheme 1983”, 15 numbers of financial assistance are awarded in each session only to registered students. According to the scheme, a candidate has to apply in prescribed form obtainable from the Institute, and submit their application within a specified date as notified from time to time. Any candidate applying for financial assistance should have passed the foundation/both groups of the Intermediate examination, at the first attempt, in one sitting, without claiming exemption in any subject. If the candidate is employed or is having an independent source of income, then the income should not be more than Rs. 36000 per annum and if he/she is dependent on his/her parents/guardian/spouse, then the combined income from all the sources should not be more than Rs. 48,000 per annum and also subject to other terms and conditions as stipulated under the above Scheme.

Students who have passed the Foundation examination must get registered with the Institute for pursuing Intermediate course within three months from the date of declaration of results to become eligible for award of the financial assistance.

About Us :

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India(ICSI) is constituted under an Act of Parliament i.e. the Company Secretaries Act, 1980 (Act No. 56 of 1980). ICSI is the only recognized professional body in India to develop and regulate the profession of Company Secretaries in India. The Institute of Company Secretaries of India awards the certificate of bestowing the designation of Company Secretary(CS) to a candidate qualifying for the membership of the Institute. It was in 1960 that the Company Law Board started a course in Company Secretaryship leading to the award of Government Diploma in Company Secretaryship. As the number of students taking up the Company Secretaryship course grew, the Government promoted on 4th October, 1968, Institute of Company Secretaries of India under Section 25 of the Companies Act, 1956 for taking over from the Government the conduct of Company Secretaryship examination. The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has since been converted into a statutory body w.e.f. 1.1.1981 under the Company Secretaries Act, 1980. The Institute of Company Secretaries of India(ICSI) has on its rolls 32,803 members including 6,670 members holding certificate of the practice. The number of current students is over 3,98,000.
