Scholarship of Sponsor for Admission in Hyderabad Public Schools for SC Student
Scheme details :
** Under this scheme, SC students are sponsored for admission in Hyderabad Public Schools at Begumpet and Ramanthapur at the level of 1st class.
** The students so admitted continue their education in the school up to 12th class.
** The total tuition fee and boarding fee in respect of hostellers is paid as scholarship.
** Hostel accommodation is provided from 5th class onwards in the Public Schools.
** As the hostel accommodation within the school premises is not sufficient, the department is running two special hostels for the Scheduled Caste children studying in Hyderabad Public Schools at Begumpet and Ramanthapur.
** No hostel accommodation is provided for Girl students, hence they are given a maintenance allowance of Rs.500/- per month.

Eligibility :
SC children belonging to families whose family income is less than 18000/- per annum are eligible

Selection of students :
Notification for admission is issued by the Hyderabad Public Schools in the months of December/January of every year. After issue of notification by the school, the District officers of the Social Welfare Department also issue notification/publicity and call for applications from interested students to be submitted by a given date. Certificates of Proof of Date of Birth, Ration Card, Income, Caste and Aadhar Card number have to be submitted by the candidate along with the application. A date is fixed for selecting 15 applications from out of the total number received through a lottery system by the District Level Committee. The 15 applications selected by each district are forwarded to the office of Commissioner of Social Welfare where the applications and enclosures are finally scrutinized and submitted to the Hyderabad Public Schools. Final selection of the students is carried out by the Hyderabad Public Schools who conduct a lottery in the presence of school authorities, parents and Government officials.

The list of selected students is displayed in Hyderabad Public Schools soon after selection. The selected list is communicated to the Commissioner of Social Welfare who arranges to conduct social status enquiry by District officers. On confirmation of eligibility of the candidate scholarship is sanctioned by the Deputy Director (SW), Hyderabad district.
