Scholarship For Students with Disabilities:

The Social Justice, Empowerment and Welfare(SJE&W) Department, Government of Sikkim is granting Scholarships for Students with Disabilities funded by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities(Divyangjan), Ministry of Soical Justice and Empowerment, Government of India for the following Scholarship Schemes

Scholarship Schemes:
1. Pre-Matric Scholarship for Students with Disabilities
2. Post Matric Scholarship for Students with Disabilities
3. Top Class Education Schlarship for Students with Disabilities.

For further details on the Scholarship Schemes, the Students/Guardians may log on to the website www.disabilityaffairs.gov.in.

All the Differently Abled Students studying within and outside the State may submit their applications(Fresh & Renewal) online on the National Scholarships Portal www.scholarships.gov.in or submit their applications, clearly mentioning their Course details and Course Commencement date, directly to the DDRC-in-Charge, IT Cell, Social Welfare Division, Social Justice, Empowerment and Welfare Department, 5th Mile Lumsey, Tadong, Gangtok, East Sikkim, along with the following documents:

Documents Required :
1. Attested copy of Certificate of Identification
2. Bonafide Student Certificate issued by Head of Institution in original
3. Attested copy of Previous Year Mark Sheet
4. Copy of Aadhaar Card
5. Copy of Bank Account Pass book
6. Income Certificate
7. Attested Copy of Disability Certificate
8. Attested Copy of Community Certificate
9. Attested copy of Birth Certificate
10. Address Proof
11. Fee Receipts (Optional)
12. In case of Post Matric Scholarship
a. Class X Marksheet
b. Class XII Marksheet(if applicant is pursuing Graduate or Post Graduate Courses)
13. Religion Certificate

Those students who are applying for scholarships online (Fresh & Renewal) are also required to submit all the above mentioned documents to the SJE&W Department. The Last date of applying for Pre-Matric Scholarships is 30th September, 2017 and Post-Matric and Top Class Education Scholarship Scheme is 31st October 2017.

For renewal cases, the last date for submitting the applications is 31st July 2017. The applicants should submit their documents(in hardcopy) to the SJE&W Department on or before the end of the last date of their selected Scholarship scheme.
