Physical Allocation of Scholarships and Time-line activities under Pre-matric/Post Matric/Merit cum Means Scholarship Scheme for students belonging to the notified minority communities for the year 2016-17

Pre Matric Scholarship Scheme:
1. Under the scheme, Scholarships are awarded to the meritorious students from notified minority communities viz. Muslims. Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Zoroastrians (Parsis) and Jains, pursuing studies in India in a Government or Private School from Class I to X, who have secured not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination and the annual income of whose parents/guardian, from all Sources does not exceed Rs.1 lakh.

2. The Community-wise Physical allocation are enclosed for Fresh Scholarship in respect of your State/UT under the Scheme of Pre-matric Scholarship Scheme along with Timeline for the financial year 2016-17. As far as, Renewals of Scholarships are concerned, there is no target for them.

3. From 2016-17, the online implementation of the Pre-matric Scholarship Scheme will be done through the common National Scholarship Web Portal (NSP 2.0) of the Government of India, under URL www.scholarships.gov.in. A link to the site is also made available in the website of this Ministry i.e. www.minority affairs.gov.in.

4. Attention is drawn to para-14 of the scheme, the scheme will be announced by the concerned State Government/UT Administration well in time, through advertisements in the leading language newspapers and local dailies and by using other suitable publicity media.

5. The State Government/UT Administration is accordingly requested to publish advertisement inviting applications for the year 2016-17 well in time. The timeline activities for the year 2016-17 for fresh and renewal of scholarships under the Pre- matric Scholarship Scheme are as under-

Time-line (for Fresh & Renewal scholarship):
Submission of Online applications for Fresh Renewal scholarship by 15th July to 31 July 2016

Post- Matric Scholarship Scheme (PMS) :
1.Under the scheme. Scholarships are awarded to the meritorious students from notified minority communities viz. Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Zoroastrians (Parsis) and Jains, pursuing government or private higher secondary school/college/university.

Iincluding such residential institutes of the Government and eligible private institute recognized by the appropriate authority, who have secured not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination and the annual income of whose parents/guardian, from all sources does not exceed Rs. 2.00 lakh.

2. The Community-wise Physical allocation are enclosed for Fresh Scholarship in respect of your State/UT under the Scheme of Post-matric Scholarship Scheme along with Timeline for the financial year 2016-17. As far as, Renewals of Scholarships are concerned, there is no target for them.

3. From 2016-17, the online implementation of the Post-matric Scholarship Scheme will be done through the common National Scholarship Web Portal (NSP 2.0) of the Government of India, under URL www.scholarships.gov.in. A link to the site is also made available in the website of this Ministry ic. www.minority affairs.gov.in.

Time-line (for Fresh & Renewal scholarship):
1. Submission of Online applications for Fresh/Renewal scholarship by students for classes XI and XII 15th July to 31 July 2016
2. Submission of Online applications for Fresh Renewal Scholarship by students for higher education like ITIs, Diploma, B.Ed, M.Philand Ph.D etc. 15th July to 31 October 2016

Merit-cum Means based Scholarship Scheme (MCM) :
1. Under the scheme, Scholarships are awarded to the meritorious students from notified minority communities viz. Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Zoroastrians (Parsis) and Jains, pursuing professional and technical courses, at under-graduate and post- graduate levels in Institutions recognized by the appropriate authority, who have Secured not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination and the annual income of whose parents/guardian, from all sources does not exceed Rs. 2.50 lakh.

2. The Community-wise Physical allocation are enclosed for Fresh Scholarship in respect of your State UT under the Scheme of Merit-cum Means based Scholarship along with Timeline for the financial year 2016-17. As far as, Renewals of Scholarships are concerned, there is no target for them.

3. From 2016-17, the online implementation of the Merit-cum Means based Scholarship Scheme will be done through the common National Scholarship Web Portal (NSP 2.0) of the Government of India, under URL www.scholarships.gov.in A link to the site is also made available in the website of this Ministry i.e. www.minorityaffairs.gov.in.

  • I APPLIED RENEWAL FOR YEAR 2016-2017 APPLICATION FOR MERIT CUM MEANS AND IN STATUS IT SHOWS THAT PAYMENT PROCEEDED FOR THE PAYMENT. BUT I DID NOT GET THE SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT YET. MY BANK A/C IS ALSO LINKED WITH AADHAAR CARD AND VERIFIED. BUT IN STATUS IT IS SHOWING THAT YOUR AADHAAR CARD IS NOT VERIFIED AND RESPONSE FROM THE BANK IS ALSO PENDING. MY ID IS UP201516003388181

  • In NSP form, only the option "Present Class Year" is not been selected due to which the form is not proceeding. Why is it so?
