MCM Scholarship For BPL Students :

Government of Kerala has introduced a comprehensive merit-cum-means scholarship scheme for the Higher Secondary students of Government and Aided schools whose parents or guardians come under the BPL category.

The scheme was introduced during 2007 – 2008. The amount of scholarship was fixed at Rs. 5000/-.

Eligibility Criteria:
** The students of the Government and Aided Higher Secondary schools only are eligible for the BPL scholarship. Each school will be allotted a particular number of scholarships every year.
** The school selection committee shall select the eligible candidates from the applicants. The eligibility criterion of the schemeis merit cum means.
** Those students whose parents or guardians come under the BPL category and who have secured higher grades in their SSLC/any other equivalent examination are eligible to be selected for the scholarship.

The following guidelines are issued for the selection of the eligible applicants:
a. The weightage of Grade Point Average (WGPA), without bonus points, of the SSLC/equivalent exam calculated at the time of admission to the first year course (Std. XI) is the criterion for deciding merit.
b. The BPL list published by the competent authority shall be taken as the criterion for deciding means.

c. If two or more candidates belonging to the BPL category have equal WGPA, the following additional criteria shall also be followed in the order of priority
i. Students whose parents are no more.
ii. Children of unwedded mothers.
iii. Candidates whose mother is a window or legally separated or divorced or unwedded mothers.
iv. Students whose father alone is alive.
v. Candidates whose parents suffer from incurable disease like cancer, heart ailments, leprosy. TB, AIDS, Kidney ailments, stroke related paralysis, and lunacy.
vi. Children of differently abled parents.
vii. Either father or the mother engaged in any traditional industries like coir, cashew, beedi, handloom, pottery, brick or tile making industries, Match industries, etc.
viii. Parents having no land or house of his/her own

d. The candidates who are eligible for the scholarship in the first year will be eligible for the same in the second year also provided he/she shall obtain D+ or above in the annual examination at least through two chancesand whose percentage of attendance shall be at least 70%.

Upload Procedure :

** The scholarship amount to beneficiaries will be disbursed under Direct Benefit Transfer Scheme. Hence the Principals of above schools are directed to upload the beneficiary student details through “ Scholarship Details Entry”link provided in ADMIN USERin the school login of admission portal hscap.kerala.gov.in.
** The details such as Aadhaar No., Aadhaar linked Bank Account No., IFSC Code etc. of students selected for scholarship under General Category should be entered with utmost care.
** The link for uploading details will be available from 02/02/2016. The scholarships details should be uploaded on or before 05/02/2016.
** In case. any Class XII beneficiary does not satisfy the mandatory criteria for renewal, that scholarship shall be allotted to the next Class XII student in the selection list prepared in the previous year when they were studying in Class XI, if he/she possesses eligibility as per II (d) above. Such students will get scholarship for the current year only.
** Principals should be careful in uploading data of beneficiaries. Only the data of exact beneficiary should be uploaded.
** The Govt. has introduced this scheme as a financial assistance to the meritorious students of the weaker sections of the society and hence causing the amount to lapse without disbursing to the eligible students will be reckoned as a serious negligence on the part of the Principal.
** The list of eligible Class XI students under SC/ST category shall be forwarded in the respective proforma to the District Panchayat Secretaries concerned on or before 10/02/2016 positively.
** The list with necessary supporting documents of Arts/Sports/IED category students shall be forwarded along with respective proforma to the Director, Higher Secondary Education, Housing Board Buildings, santhinagar, Trivandrum -1, on or before 10/02/2016

  • I applyed for bpl sholarship 2times Iget first time but in second time I didn't get .I got 90% mark .what is the reason for not getting scholarship?

  • I have applied for BPL scholarship two times when I was in HSE classes. I get this scholarship reward only in +1. The second time I didn't considered by the authority. I get above 80% marks.

  • In SSLC I will get 100% mark. I am a Bpl student. Now I am studying in government school.

  • I applied for mcm scholarship. Now payment is sent to pfms. I checked this site and status of payment as you say above. There is showing only "bank txn date 31/3/2016 "but not credited till now. What I have to do? Please help me.
