What is WeMakeScholars Higher Education Scholarship Test?

HEST is India’s largest Higher Education Scholarship Test where students from top colleges compete to win scholarships to fund their study abroad. HEST is powered by WeMakeScholars, an organization funded & supported by the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), Govt. of India under the ‘Digital India’ campaign. The total scholarship fund allocated for this HEST season is 2 Crore, with each scholarship of upto 3 lacs.

Eligibility of WeMakeScholars Higher Education Scholarship Test

** Applicant must be an Indian citizen.
** Applicant must be planning to study abroad within the next 12 months.
** Applicant NEED NOT produce the foreign university admission confirmation at the moment. It can be submitted later while receiving the scholarship cash award.
** Applicant must have a minimum score of 5S% in 10th & 12th
** Students going abroad for Bachelors/ Masters/ MBA/ Diploma programs are eligible to apply. MBBS/ MD/ PhD programs are ineligible for this scholarship.

Note:
** Those who will be self-funding their total expenses are NOT eligible for this scholarship program as we believe they are financially stable to fund their studies. Our motto is to support the needy and financially weak students.
** HEST intends supporting those applicants who will be funding their total expenses (inclusive of tuition fee, living and travel expenses) using an education loan.
** During our last season of HEST, we found that many students submitted fake loan sanction letters, which were either taken just for the visa purpose or to process their HEST scholarship application ahead.
** Hence, from this year, we have made this condition mandatory that ONLY students processing their education loan via WeMakeScholars are eligible for this scholarship.
** Also, since only about 2-5% students get good scholarships, it’s important to have a strong backup funding source as well to make your study abroad dream come true.
** WeMakeScholars WILL NOT be charging any service fee for all the HEST applicants.
