What is Kerala Margadeepam Scholarship?
The state government is implementing a new scheme called the ‘Maargadeepam Scholarship’. The scholarships will be given to the students from Ist to VIII th standard whose parent’s/Guardian’s income from all sources does not exceed Rs 2.5 lakh per annum. Scholarships will be disbursed as per the detailed guidelines issued by the Department. Last date of application is 12th September 2025.
Eligibility of Kerala Margadeepam Scholarship
** The scholarships will be given to students belonging to Notified Minority Communities currently studying in C l a s s I to VIII in Government schools or Government aided schools in Kerala.
** The annual income of the parent/guardian from all sources should not exceed ₹2.5 lakh.
** The applicant must be a permanent resident of Kerala. Reservation: 30% of the scholarships are reserved for girl students.
** If quotas demarcated for girl students aren’t filled, boy students will be considered.
** The scholarship is limited to maximum of only two children from the same family.
** During the application verification process, the Head of the Institution shall cross-check the names with the details on the ration card to ensure compliance.
** If there are more than two applicants from the same family, the principal shall reject the third application. Students receiving any other scholarship are not eligible to apply.
How To Apply For Kerala Margadeepam Scholarship?
To apply for Kerala Margadeepam Scholarship, Follow the below steps
Steps:
** Visit the official scholarship portal (www.margadeepam.kerala.gov.in).
** Download the Application Form from the Portal.
** The applicants shall fill out the Application Form with accurate and complete information.
** Applicants shall Submit the duly filled Application Form to the Head of the Institution.
** The Clerk of the educational institution shall enter the correct details of the applicant as submitted in the application in the Clerk Login and submit it to the Head of the Institution.
** The Head of the Institution should verify the details and forward it to the Minority Welfare Department through portal.
** In case of lack of clarity in filling the Application Form the Head of the
** Institution shall provide assistance to the applicants and in case of any shortcomings in the application, it shall be communicated to the applicant well in advance.

** Family Income Certificate issued by the Village Officer.
** Community Certificate or Minority Certificate issued by the Village Officer.
** Copy of Bank Passbook
** Disability Certificate (if applicable; disability ≥ 40%)
** Death certificate (if applicable, e.g., in case of the loss of a parent/both parents)
