Type of Scholarships :
Academic Scholarship :
The aim of this scholarship is to encourage study efforts of the students and acknowledge the same. In order to motivate maximum number of students the scholarship amount will be distributed among top 30% of the students. The performance will be adjudged in the following parameters.

Vivek Merit Scholarship For Class-XI

University Examination Score :
** 90 marks.
** Unit Test : 05 marks.
** All round performance : 05 marks.
** Total : 100 marks.
The total amount to be distributed as scholarship shall be 30 % of the Tuition Fee Collected.

The scholarship will be divided in to three grades A, B, C. :
** A Grade shall be equivalent to 50% of the total scholarship amount.
** B Grade shall be equivalent to 20% of the total scholarship amount.
** C Grade shall be equivalent to 50% of the total scholarship amount.
** First top 10 % of the students will be entitled to A Grade Scholarship.
** Second top 10% of the students will be entitled to B Grade Scholarship.
** Third top 10% of the students will be entitled to C Grade Scholarship.

Eligibility :
The students of Jyotirmoy School of Law, who appears and pass in all papers in the University Exams from among the students of Jyotirmoy School of Law in the first attempt.

Merit Scholarship :
100% Scholarship for students securing 80% and above in 10+2 (HS,/CBSC/ISC – 2009) (Limited 12 students. Conditions apply)

Outstanding Performance Scholarship/Free ship :
** The aim of this scholarship is to acknowledge outstanding performance and attract best talents.
** It is proposed that 100% fee waiver be granted to any student of JSL who may secure
** 1st, 2nd , or 3rd rank in the Annual University Examinations.
** The Founder Trustee of Jyotirmoy Education & Welfare Foundation and the Chairman of Organising Committee has proposed to institute the following Freeship scheme to be operative from the academic year 2009-10, which is named as Jyotirmoy Education & Welfare Foundation Freeship.

Eligibility :
The Jyotirmoy Education & Welfare Foundation Freeship shall be provided to the student of each class of Jyotirmoy School of Law who secures the First Rank in the Calcutta University annual examinations.

Quantum :
Freeship amount would be equal to the amount of tuition fee levied by Jyotirmoy School of Law every year and a student eligible for Freeship need not pay the tuition fees for the next academic year. The name of the Freeship holder / holders shall be announced on the Founder’s Day.

A committee consisting of Founder Trustee or his nominee and the Head of the Institution, Jyotirmoy School of Law shall determine the name of the Freeship holder for that year after the University Exam results are announced.

The Committee may recommend for forfeiture of Freeship, if the character and conduct of the Freeship holder is found to be not satisfactory. The decision of the Board of Trustees of Jyotirmoy Education & Welfare Foundation shall be final in this regard

Gold Medals :
Suitable endowment shall be created for giving Gold Medals to the university toppers in the subjects of Law from among the students of JSL. This will be started from Academic session 2010 on wards.

General Conditions governing the Scholarships. :
** Only students of Jyotirmy School of Law are entitled for this scholarship during the period they are enrolled with JSL.
** A committee consisting of Founder Trustee or his nominee and the Head of the Institution, Jyotirmoy School of Law shall finalise the list of students after the announcement of result by Calcutta University.
** The committee may recommend for forfeiture of such Scholarship, if the scholars’ character and conduct are found to be not satisfactory, and the decision of the Board of Trustees of Jyotirmoy Education & Welfare Foundation shall be final in this regard.
** The Scholarship will be disbursed in form Cash on the Founders’ Day/ or any other suitable day every year to the students. Gold Medals will have no cash amount.
** However, the amount can be adjusted towards the payment of tuition fees to be paid by the students, if so desired.
** The above proposal and scheme was approved by the Organising Committee in its meeting held on 01.12.2008 and shall be effective from academic session 2008-09 except the Gold Medals which will be instituted from 2010-11.
