Indian School Talent Search Exam (ISTSE) is scholarship test open to all the students of class 1 to 10.

Mode of Exam

ISTSE Online Summer 2021 : (Open for Direct Participation)
You can participate in this test from the comfort of your home. You need a laptop or desktop or tablet with webcam and live internet connection.

ISTSE Paper-based – 2020-21 : (Only through School)
The offline examination will be conducted through school. Please talk to your school about the examination form.

Exam Dates

Paper-based Exam : (Only through School)
** Exam Date: 2nd & 9th May 2021

How It Works?

For Direct / Individual Students :
You can participate in this test from the comfort of your home.

Steps :
Step 1 : Individual / Direct Registration
Any student studying in class 1 – 10 and interested in knowing their potential

Step 2 : Prepare
Prepare for exam based on described syllabus

Step 3 : Mock Test
Each students will be provided with 3 mock test. Attempt provided mock tests and evaluate your preparation.

Step 4 : Final Test
Appear in Actual Online Test scheduled. Participate from the comfort of your home. You need a laptop/desktop/tablet with webcam and live internet connection.

For Paper-based Exam :
Paper-based ISTSE exam is conducted through school. Students have to fill the form in the school and exam will be conducted inside-school campus during school hours.

Steps :
Step 1 : Fill examination from
Any class 1 – 10 student studying in participating school. Ask your teacher about ISTSE exam form.

Step 2 : Prepare
Go through the Syllabus and marking scheme. Prepare for exam based on described syllabus

Step 3 : Final Test
Appear in the paper based exam conducted inside school campus during school hours.

Exam Details

For direct / individual students :
Exam Duration : 60 minutes,
No of questions – 35 questions for students from class 1 to 4, 50 questions for students from class 5 to 10

Syllabus :
Question papers will be comparising of questions from Mental & Logical Ability (9%) , Mathematics (24%), Science (24%), English (12%) and Scholars Section (15%). Additionally 16% of marks is reserved for Fair Play / Practice.

Exam Fees :
INR 399/-, With Late Fees INR 449/-

Paper-based :
Exam Duration : 60 minutes,
No of questions – 35 questions for students from class 1 to 4, 50 questions for students from class 5 to 10

Syllabus :
Question papers will be comparising of questions from Mental & Logical Ability (Class 1-4: 12% / Class 5-10: 9%) , Mathematics (24%), Science (24%), English (Class 1-4: 20% / Class 6-10: 18%) and Scholars Section (Class 1-4: 20% / Class 6-10: 25%). In case two or more students get the same rank, an interview will be conducted to decide the award.

Exam Fees : INR 200/-
Negative Marking : There is negative marking for each wrong answer.

Recognition & Awards

Scholarship

Top 3 students from each class will be awarded
** International Rank 1 – Scholarship of Rs. 1500/month for 12 months + Topper Shield

** International Rank 2 – Scholarship of Rs. 1000/month for 12 months + First Runner Up Shield
** International Rank 3 – Scholarship of Rs. 500/month for 12 months + Second Runner Up Shield

In case two or more students get the same rank, an interview will be conducted to decide the scholarship.

Ranking Criteria

** Rule 1 – The student who will get more marks in Scholars’ Section will get higher rank.
** Rule 2 – The student who will get more marks in Math will get higher rank.

** Rule 3 – The student who will get more marks in Science will get higher rank.
** Rule 4 – Student who will get more marks in Mental & Logical Ability will get higher rank.

** Rule 5 – Student who will get more marks in English will get higher rank.
** Rule 6 – Time taken by student in completing the exam paper. The student who has taken lesser time will get higher rank.

** Rule 7 – If two students get the same marks, the student who is younger in age will be given preference..

Recognition & Medals

Recognition is the best form of appreciation. Each participating student with get a cetificate.

For Online Exam :
The student who scores,
** 95% or above will get a Scholar Certificate along with a Gold Medal
** 90% to 94.99% will get an Outstanding Performance Certificate along with a Silver Medal

** 80% to 89.99% will get a Distinguished Performance Certificate along with a Bronze Medal
** 60% to 79.99% will get a Participation Certificate
** below 60% will get a digital Participation Certificate

For Paper-based :
Class Level Awards & Recognition : (School-wise)
Rule 1 :
If in a school, in a particular class, the number of students participating is 25 or more

** The First Topper from that particular class will get Cash Prize of Rs. 1500 + Gold Medal.
** The Second Topper from that particular class will get Cash Prize of Rs. 1000 + Silver Medal.
** The Third Topper from that particular class will get Cash Prize of Rs. 500 + Bronze Medal.

Rule 2 :
If in a school, in a particular class, the number of students participating is between 15 and 24

** The First Topper from that particular class will get a Gold Medal (No Cash Prize)
** The Second Topper from that particular class will get a Silver Medal (No Cash Prize)
** The Third Topper from that particular class will get get a Bronze Medal (No Cash Prize)

Rule 3 :
If in a school, in a particular class, the number of students participating is between 5 and 14
** The First Topper from that particular class will get a Gold Medal (No Cash Prize) (No Medals will be given to the Second and Third Topper.)

School Level Awards & Scholarship :
Rule 1 :
If in a school, the total number of students participating, including all the classes is 500 or more
** First School Topper (combining all the classes), will get a scholarship of Rs. 1500 for 12 months + School Topper Shield

** Second School Topper (combining all the classes), will get a scholarship of Rs. 1000 for 12 months + First Runner Up Shield
** Third School Topper (combining all the classes), will get a scholarship of Rs. 500 for 12 months + Second Runner Up Shield

Rule 2 :
If in a school, the total number of students participating, including all the classes is between 325 & 499

** First School Topper (combining all the classes), will get a scholarship of Rs. 1500 for 12 months + School Topper Shield
(No Scholarship will be given to the Second and Third Topper.)

Selection of School Topper :
** Rule 1 – Should have got minimum 60% marks in the ISTSE Examination.
** Rule 2 – Must be a Class Topper for the current ISTSE Exam.

** Rule 3 – Must have got the highest percentile in the current ISTSE exam among all the class toppers.
** Rule 4 – Must have got the highest percentile in Scholars’ Section of the current ISTSE exam among all the class toppers.

** Rule 5 – Must have got the highest percentile in Mathematics Section of the current ISTSE exam among all the class toppers.
** Rule 6 – Must have got the highest percentile in Science Section of the current ISTSE exam among all the class toppers.

** Rule 7 – Must have got the highest percentile in Mental & Logical Ability Section of the current ISTSE exam among all the class toppers.
** Rule 8 – Must have got the highest percentile in English Section of the current ISTSE exam among all the class toppers.

In case of a tie based on the above criteria, the School recommendation (based on academic records) will be required.

International Scholarship :
International Topper of each class will get a scholarship of Rs. 1800 per month for 12 months + International Topper Shield.
