National Merit Scholarship Exam

National Merit Scholarship Exam (NMSE) is one of the biggest Scholarship Exam for students studying in Grade 5-12. The Main purpose of the exam is to to identify and nurture talented students by helping them with right scholarship.

Who Can Participate?

All the students currently studying in Grade 5 – 13 can participate in it. The candidate need to select the appropriate grade according to session 2020-21 during Registration of the Exam.

How to Register?

The Candidate can register themselves on the website www.nmse.in by clicking on Register Now button Or they can request their school for the same.

Steps :
Step 1 : Visit the official website of NMSE through provided above.
Step 2 : Next, click on the “Register Now” link in the home page.

Step 3 : Fill the registration form with the required details.
Step 4 : Finally click on “Register” button to complete your registration.

Important Dates

** 1st Round Exam – 16th August 2020
** 2nd Round Exam – 23th August 2020

Note :
The Exam will be conducted in 2 Round. The 1st Round is the qualifier Round and all those candidates who qualify this will proceed to 2nd Round.
There is no registration fee for the 1st Round Exam.

Syllabus & Pattern

The Syllabus is based on the school curriculum of the candidate current as well as previous grade. The Exam will comprise of 70% of the previous grade [Second Half] & 30% of the current grade syllabus.

Grade 5-10 :
** Total of 45 MCQs questions with three sections.
** 15 Questions each from Mathematics, Science and Mental Ability.
** Total Duration 1 hour [60 Minutes]

Grade 11-12 : [Mathematics]
** Total of 45 MCQs questions with three sections.
** 15 Questions each from Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry.
** Total Duration 1 hour [60 Minutes]

Grade 11-12 : [Biology]
** Total of 45 MCQs questions with three sections.
** 15 Questions each from Biology, Physics, Chemistry.
** Total Duration 1 hour [60 Minutes]

Grade 13 : [Dropper]
** Total of 45 MCQs questions with three sections.
** 15 Questions each from Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry.
** Total Duration 1 hour [60 Minutes]

Rewards & Scholarship

The scholarship will be awarded to students on the basis of performance in the Exam. A total of 200 Students will be selected for the Scholarship & Prizes.

2. When is the 1st Round Exam of NMSE 2020?
The first Round of National Merit Scholarship Exam 2020 is scheduled on 16th August 2020 (Sunday). More details regarding timing and other instructions will be sent to the candidate 3-5 days before the exam.

3. What is the Mode of the Exam?
The Exam will be conducted in online mode in 2 Rounds. The candidate can take part in it from the comfort of home with Internet enabled smartphone/laptop/PC.

4. What is the Syllabus of the Exam?
