ADF’s Educational Support Program For Students:
I.The Purpose:
“Man is a social Animal” here the word man denotes the human community. Every human being has rights to fulfill his basic needs, irrespective of Gender, Race, Nationality, religion etc,.. In the modern society education is also one of the basic needs like food, clothing and shelter because man without education is considered as a living wood. There is no disparity between male and female education. The community is deemed successful by the accomplishment of education from both sexes. However, girl education is highly encouraged by every citizen of our country.
Hence, we as a foundation involved in transforming communities in the southern part of our country also predominantly encourage girl children to benefit the project.
Development of girl child in India would be incomplete without ‘Education’. Education is the back bone of any type of society, the development of society depends upon the number of educated people in the society. There is a wide gender disparity in the literacy rate in India: adult (15+ years) literacy rates in 2011 were 82.14% for men and 65.46% for women. Asirvad Development Foundation’s (ADF) one of the fundamental objectives is Women development and women empowerment and hence ADF has decided to use education as a weapon to cut down the social evils of illiteracy, poverty and population to bring inclusive development of society at the grass root level. Because “If you educate a man you simply educate an individual, but if you educate a woman you educate a family” it leads to society’s development so ADF decided to support the girl child education for overall development of the Nation.
Ii. Criteria For Selection (Who Is Eligible?):
a) Single Parenthood (Widow, deserted women, separated, etc.,)
b) Orphan students
c) Students come under below poverty Level (BPL) with good Educational performance (Income certificate received from civic authorities should be attached with the application)
d) Any girl student who aspire for education with good academic excellence and finding hard to pay the school fees.
e) Migrated students due to natural disaster (Tsunami victims), War victims (Srilankan Refuges, etc.,)
f) Students of HIV affected parents and of chronic illness.
g) Children of AMPL beneficiaries with poor economic background and incapable to meet the school fees. The support is eligible for children with excellent past academic performance.
Note 1: Only Students pursuing school education in the State of Tamil Nadu are eligible to apply for ADF’s Educational Support Program. Our Foundation has plans to expand this program to the rest of our country in the near future.
Note 2: The Criteria mentioned above will be properly verified by the representative(s) of the Foundation through visit to their Home / School / neighborhood.
Iii. Requirements From Applicants:
a) Application to the Chairman / Head – ADF requesting for assistance.
b) Income certificate of a bread winner of the family
c) Residential proof (Photo copy of ration card, Voter ID, etc.,)
d) Photocopy of the Student’s school Identity card
e) Bonafide certificate from the school management
f) Statement of fees structure from School in the school letterhead.
g) Photocopy of the Student’s Mark list / Progress Report
h) Family photograph (with Child) and Student’s passport size photograph.
Iv. The Process:
a) When the application is received by the Chairman / Head of ADF, the representatives from ADF will visit the house of the applicant for residential verification.
b) The representatives gather social and other relevant information about the applicant amongst their neighbors and surroundings.
c) After residential verification the representatives visit the educational institution of the student.
d) A detailed case report will be sent to the Head – ADF by the delegated personnel of ADF.
e) Head – ADF after thorough scrutiny, recommend the case with the Chairman – ADF.
f) Chairman – ADF is the ultimate authority to sanction the support for the Student.

h) Applications will be received during April to June every year.
i) Applications received after 30th June will be not be accepted at any circumstances.
j) Only a maximum of 100 applications will be entertained and recommended for support per academic year.
k) Sponsorship could be available subject to availability of funds and fulfilling the criteria of the Foundation.
l) The management has the right to withdraw / terminate support to the students at any time assigning no reasons and hence this support may not be considered as granted year after year.
m) All applications may not be eligible for support. The discretion of the management will be the final.
n) No favoritism will be shown to the applicants and fair practices will be followed during the selection process.
o) Only One Student is eligible for ADF educational Support from a household.
p) Though the scheme is to encourage girl students’ education, if the foundation comes across deserving “Boy students” and unable to meet their educational expenses, their application also will be considered for support.
q) ADF and AMPL staff members are encouraged to recommend deserving students for this educational support program.
V. Sponsorship Structure:
a) The sanctioned amount will be directly transferred to the educational institution by Demand draft or cheque from ADF account.
b) Only tuition fees, Exam fees & Book fees are covered under this program.
c) The support will be given only on a yearly basis.
d) Money will not be given to the parents / applicants directly at any circumstances.
e) ADF will closely monitor the Students’ performance and their families’ involvement in the Students education and periodically update the Head – ADF.
f) The parents / applicants are expected to update ADF about the progress of the student in her academic performance.(a photocopy of the student’s progress report to be submitted to ADF every quarter)
