West Bengal Minorities’ Development & Finance Corporation invites online applications for Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship(Bikash Bhavan Scholarship) Fresh & Renewal for the year 2018-19.

Eligibility

1) Applicants must be domicile of West Bengal and has been continuing education in institutes situated in West Bengal.

2) Applicants must be continue his/her study in educational institutions of West Bengal after passing out in Current year i.e.2018 from the State Board/Council of Secondary/Higher Secondary and Madrasah Education.

3) Students must belong to Minority Community (Muslim / Christian / Sikh / Buddhist / Parsee & Jain).
4) Annual family income not exceeding Rs. 2.5 lakhs (Certificate to be issued by an Officer not below the rank of Joint BDO).

Specific Eligibility :

Graduation level in case of Engineering students 55%
5 Kanyashree applicants (K-3) for Post- Graduation studies(M.Sc, M.Com and MA) ** Aggregate in Graduation level.
** Kanyashree recipients with valid K2-ID pursuing P.G. courses in science, commerce and Arts stream in the year 2017 are eligible to apply.
45% Rs. 2000/- to Rs. 2500/-

How to Apply?

Just follow the below steps to apply for the Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship Fresh & Renewal 2018-19 online. Applicants who have already applied in svmcm of higher education department portal (svmcm.wbhed.gov.in) need not apply in this website.

Steps :
Step 1 : Go to the Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship online Application web portal through the URL provided above.

Step 2 : Read The Instructions Carefully Before Registering Your Application Online. Then click on the Registration link in the home page.

Step 3 : Fill the application form with the required details and click on the Submit button

Step 4 : Click on Login link, enter your User name & Password along with the captcha and update all the details like Personal details, Bank Account details and Apply for the scholarship.

Step 5 : Finally click on Submit button and take note a Permanent Id

Note :
** While applying, all students will be required to enclose an Affidavit written on a Non-judicial Stamp Paper valued Rs. 10/- or more, and sworn by his/her parent/guardian before a Notary Public or a first-class magistrate, declaring their total family income from all sources (giving the detailed break-up) during the preceding financial year

** After the submission of online application the candidates are required to collect the institute verification form from the portal. The same will be required to be authenticated by the HOI and finally uploaded to the portal.

Documents Required

Following documents are to be uploaded at the time of filing online application:
(i) Both side of the Mark sheet of the last examination.
(ii) Admit card of madhyamik or equivalent examination.
(iii) Income certificate in the prescribed format
(iv) First page of bank pass book mentioning clearly the A/C no. and IFSC details

(v) Voter Id/Aadhaar card etc.
(vi) Recent Photograph(size must between 100 to 120KB)
(vii) Institute verification form duly authenticated by the Head of the Institution (HOI) in the prescribed format.

Renewal Application

Step 1 : Applicant should apply through online mode using Login Id and Password as used at the time of first application through the official website provided above.

Step 2 : The documents in original mentioned below must be uploaded and submitted the same within one month from the date of admission in the next higher class due to promotion by passing in the first attempt.

Note :
** Semester mode – Mark sheet of 1st Semester and 2nd Semester for 2nd year renewal;
** 3rd Semester and 4th Semester for 3rd renewal in U.G. and mark sheet of 1st Semester and 2nd Semester for 2nd year renewal in case of P.G.
** All Semester Examinations need to be cleared in the first attempt

Judging Criteria

The total family income for the prospective scholars will be not more than Rs. 2,50,000/- per annum.

Merit Judging Criteria

Candidates whose family income is not more than Rs. 2,50,000/- per annum will be judged according to their academic merit in the under noted manner.

For HS – level :
The minimum qualifying marks for being considered for award of scholarships will be 75% in aggregate, in Madhyamik Pariksha, and the total marks obtained in the Madhyamik Parkisha excluding pass marks in the additional subject, if any, will be the sole criterion for consideration.

For Diploma – level :
Students who are enrolled after passing out in Secondary (M.P) examination or its equivalent in 2017 for first year Diploma (Polytechnic) course and after passing out in “West Bengal State Council of Vocational Education and Training “ courses, which is equivalent to H.S Examination for 2nd year Diploma(Polytechnic) courses on lateral entry basis, will be eligible to apply.

For UG – level :
The minimum qualifying marks for being considered for award of scholarships will be 75% in aggregate, in the H.S. Examination conducted by the W.B. Council of H.S. Education/Madrasha Siksha Parishad. For the UG (Arts), UG (Commerce), UG (Science) separate merit lists will be prepared.

Sanction Procedures

Applications i.r.o scholarship cases would be arranged in descending order (on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination apart from income/means criteria), and scholarship would be sanctioned as per the availability of fund and strictly on the basis of the merit list.

  • I had given Madhayamik in this year. Can I apply for ? What is the amount of scholarship in SVMCM?

  • I am a B.Tech student of 2nd year.I have a supplementary in my last semester exam and I have done my PPR for that.But the PPR result will be published approximately in March,2019. So what to do now? Wouldn't the date of renewal be extended upto March?

  • I got SVMCM scholarship on production of Madhyamik and Higher Secondary exam result in the year 2016 and April 2018. I passed Higher Secondary exam in the year 2017 and now I am a student of B.Sc second year in Burdwan university. Now at present, I received only first semester result and awaiting for the second. I admitted in the second year course on 13th September,2018. When shall I apply for renewal?
