Higher Education Support Application 2015-16:
Naraindas Morbai Budhrani Trust (NMBT) registered in 2002 as a trust under Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950. Mr. Devidas N. Budhrani, its founder trustee, and his family firmly believes in the philosophy of serving the poor and the underprivileged. With this belief, mission for the trust got formed – “Every suffering one is a picture of GOD, to serve him is to worship GOD”. Spiritual guidance from Dada J. P. Vaswani and Sadhu T. L. Vaswani have strengthened their belief in this ideal and hence all the programs carried out by the trust are called “Krishnarpanam”.

Education Programs:
“We want THAT education, by which character is formed, strength of mind is increased, the intellect is expanded and by which one can stand on one’s own feet.”Swami Vivekanand” NMBT builds its initiative for Education support based on the above objective. Our past challenging initiative at Ahmedabad and Baroda undertaken by NMBT of counseling the parents on “why to deprive their children of education?” has taken good shape and the NMBT supports about 600 students with tuition fees. The NMBT arduous challenge made its program coordinators meet principals of over 100 schools and requested them to grant admissions/re-admit children who were forced to quit due to inability of paying school fees.

A comprehensive process of over a period of time, which involved the school principals, parents and children themselves and home visit by the dedicated volunteers of “Sadhu Vaswani Mission” and others, has enabled us to support children, at Ahmedabad and Baroda; who wish to continue their studies. At Mumbai we support the students of such families who are infected by with HIV and cancer. NMBT also caters to the need of affected students whose family members are sufferings with these diseases

“We continue to strive in our efforts to improve upon this program. Meetings with all the school principals are being conducted every year in March-April to gather their inputs and to understand the progress of the children and how we can accomplish the dreams of these children of becoming good citizens of the nation. We are contemplating to replicate this program in Pune/Nashik cities for 2011-12; the success of which is totally dependent on identifying right parents to partner with. Recently, NMBT has started a fresh initiative for educating under-privileged kids/children of the Construction Sites Workers at Ahmedabad.

This program is to impart kindergarten and basic values of education to these children who are otherwise wander in the vicinity. SAATH Charitable Trust , Ahmedabad is the coordinating partner for this program. The main problem faced by these construction site workers is where to send their children for basic education. Our trust has made a program with the site contractors & engineers and managed to spare a room/hall for these children. Here these children are taught basic alphabets & numbers, language and writing practices in a jovial environment. In addition nutritional foods are provided to these children as an incentive.

With the help of “Mansarovar Sindhi Samaj Welfare Samiti” Jaipur, our NMBT has been able to support the education of needy college going students of the poor families and help them accomplish their dreams of becoming an engineer, doctor, management graduates (Graduation, MBA, CA & Hotel Management). At present the NMBT has sponsored only 4 such students. The sponsorship is likely to increase as currently supported students from schools will become eligible to higher education. We will extend support to this program to the needy students, till such time it becomes a self sustainable program, whereby, in course of time these students who are benefited from this program will make a small financial contribution to educate other needy students, as an Each One – Teach One model.
