Scholarship:

Established in the amorous memories of his mother, Smt. Urmila Mittal, “Smt. Urmila Mittal Memorial Trust” (SUMMT) has been set up by Mr. C D Mittal, as a remembrance of his mothers’ immense sacrifice, love and compassion.

Applicable For : Girl Students

In her lifetime, she bestowed her enormous support to provide higher education to students in all streams and courses. The initiative was taken with an objective to take the scholarship program in the long run and to promote quality education for the underserved communities. The primary aim behind starting the scholarship program was to accord ample opportunities for the development of the brilliant students, along with availing quality education to many underprivileged sections of the society.

Aim:
To develop and nurture the massive talent by commencing need-based scholarship programs, which cater to the education related needs of the exemplary students.

Guiding Principles:

(a) Focusing and addressing the needs of the talented girl students.

(b) Acclaiming and selecting students belonging largely to the economically backward classes.

(c) To formulate and transform the programme as a source of inspiration and motivation for all.

Title:
The scholarship initiative will be put into operation as “Smt. Urmila Mittal Scholarship Programme”.

Types of Scholarships:

Informative Details about the planned scholarship programmes are mentioned below:-
1. Scholarships for Higher Secondary – 200 scholarships for Girl Students of 11th and 12th Class.

2. Scholarships for Higher Education – 50 scholarships for Girls pursuing Engineering, Medicine, Law etc.

Scholarship for Higher Secondary (Commencing from F.Y. 2012-2013):

(a) A total of 200 scholarships are planned and will be awarded to the brilliant girls, belonging to the economically backward classes. The programme procures the opportunity to the students of 11th standard.

(b) The former initiative is planned to accommodate scholarship to 200 new Students of 11th standard every year.

(c) Scholarships planned are for the duration of 2years. They will be in the form of direct financial assistance to the students. This endeavor would help students meet their basic monthly requirements of coaching, stationary and transportation.

(d) The scholarships will be accorded to the brilliant students, belonging to Government and Government-aided schools in specified States/ regions.

(e) Each scholarship awarded will be renewed every year. It will help parents to meet the annual income criteria as well as the students to continue the academic performance.

(f) An amount of Rs. 6,000/- per annum, in equal monthly installments of Rs. 500 will be deposited in the bank account of each scholarship holding student. The amount of Rs. 6,000/-(Rs 500 every month) is the maximum amount accorded to any student per year.

(g) For availing the benefits of scholarship, the total annual income of the parents/guardians of the applicant should not exceed Rs 1, 80,000/-

(h) SUMMT “the Trust” reserve their right to terminate the Scholarship at any stage if the information provided to by the beneficiary found incorrect/misleading, poor academic performance, class attendance below 80%, parents do not meet annual income criteria etc. and the decision of the Trust will be final

(i) The decision/decisions of SUMMT “the Trust” for Granting, Rejecting, Terminating, Revising the value of Scholarship will be final and the Trust is not liable to give any notice of their decisions to any one and the decisions of the Trust cannot be challenged in any court of Law.

Scholarship for Higher Education (Commencing from F.Y. 2014-2015):

(a) A total of 50 scholarships are planned and will be awarded to the brilliant girls, belonging to the economically backward classes. The programme procures the opportunity to the students pursuing Post Graduated Coursed like Engineering, Medicine, Law etc.

(b) The former initiative is planned to accommodate scholarship to 50 new Students every year for next 4 (Four) years.

(c) Scholarships planned are for the duration of the entire course. They will be in the form of direct financial assistance to the students. This endeavor would help students meet their basic monthly requirements of coaching, stationary, tuition fees and transportation.

(d) The scholarships will be accorded to the brilliant students, belonging to Government / UGC recognized Universities.

(e) Each scholarship awarded will be renewed every year. The renewal of Scholarship will strictly on the parents continue to meet the annual income criteria as well as the student’s continued / improved academic performance.

(f) An amount of Rs. 30,000/- per annum, in a equal monthly installments of Rs. 2,500/- will be deposited in the bank account of each scholarship awarded student. The amount of Rs. 30,000/-(Rs 2,500 every month) is the maximum amount accorded to any student per year.

(g) For availing the benefits of scholarship, the total annual income of the parents/guardians of the applicant should not exceed Rs 1, 80,000/- .

(h) SUMMT “the Trust” reserve their right to terminate the Scholarship at any stage if the information provided to by the beneficiary found incorrect/misleading, poor academic performance, class attendance below 80%, parents do not meet annual income criteria etc. and the decision of the Trust will be final.
