GHCI Student Scholarships:
** The Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing India (GHCI) is a great opportunity for women students to get inspired and kick-start a successful career in technology.

** GHCI is offering a number of student scholarships for the 2016 conference in Bangalore, India to be held from December 7-9, 2016. Scholarship recipients get to attend GHCI and learn from different conference sessions, meet other women in technology and connect with leading organizations.
** Scholarship recipients also get access to GHCI’s Student Career Fair (for women students only), where bright and dynamic students can meet top recruiters from global technology companies. Students can explore internships as well as full-time job opportunities.
** GHCI Scholarships are awarded to deserving female under-graduate, post-graduate and PhD students in computing and IT. Scholarships cover expenses associated with attending the GHCI conference, including the registration fee, meals and lodging for each recipient. Travel (by train or bus) will be reimbursed up to a maximum of Rs 2,000 for each recipient.
** We can only offer a limited number of student scholarships, so be sure to apply as soon as possible!

Submit your scholarship application form online. We will inform you about the acceptance/non-acceptance of your scholarship application by August 31, 2016.

What do GHCI Scholarships cover?:
A full scholarship covers the conference registration fee, a shared hotel room with one other scholarship recipient for up to two nights (check in December 7, 2016 and check out December 9, 2016), meals during the conference and travel expense reimbursement up to a certain amount. We also award partial scholarships that cover some of these expenses.
How many scholarships were awarded last year?:
170 full and partial scholarships were awarded during GHCI 2015.
If I am awarded a scholarship, will I be able to interview with only my sponsors?:
No, all companies that are part of the career fair can interview you.
How does the review process work?:
** The Scholarship Committee and Scholarship Reviewers consist of experienced men and women professionals from the industry and academia. Each application is reviewed by at least two Scholarship Reviewers and the Scholarship Committee.
** Reviewers provide their feedback on each application and the results are tallied and reviewed by the Student Scholarships Committee Co-Chairs.
** Scholarships are awarded to the candidates with the highest scores, while maintaining a balanced representation from various institutions and backgrounds.
What criteria are used to award scholarships?:
We use a variety of criteria and try to evaluate each candidate individually. We consider academic achievements, focus on specialization through internships, paper presentations, participation in contests and workshops, projects and other extracurricular activities.
