Ministry of Education, Culture, Sport, Science and Technology [MEXT]) Scholarship Program for the year 2016. Applicant can apply online at proposal.sakshat.ac.in/scholarship/ . No scholarship will be offered for Post-Doctoral studies (After Ph.D or at final stages of Ph.D). The subjects in which scholarships will be awarded are given below

Fields Of Study :
Applicants should apply for the field of study they majored in at university or its related field. Moreover, the fields of study must be subjects which applicants will be able to study and research in graduate courses at Japanese universities.

The applicant can apply in the following subjects :
(I) Japanese Language & Literature
(2) Japanese Studies
(3) Management
(4) Environmental Science
(5) Aerospace Engineering
(6) Civil Engineering I Earthquake Engineering
(7)Architecture
(8) Bio-Technology
(9) Electrical Engineering
(10) Electronics & Communications Engineering
(11) Information Technology/ Optical Fiber communication
(12) Physics/Laser Technology
(13) Material Science I Engineering
(14) Quality & Reliability Engineering
(15) Mechanical Engineering I Robotics
(16) Agriculture
(17) Fisheries.

DURATION :
Two Years (in case of starting in April, 2016) or one and a half year (in case of starting in October, 2016) Extendable under a certain condition. The period includes a 6- month Japanese language training period for grantees who require such training.

VALUE OF SCHOLARSHIP :
Each grantee will be provided 143,000yen (Research Students(non-regular students), 144,000yen (regular students in Master’s courses or professional graduate courses), or 145,000yen(regular students in doctoral courses) per month. (In case that the recipient research in a designated region, 2,000 or 3,000 yen per month will be added. The monetary amount each year may be subject to change due to budgetary reasons.) .

TUITION AND OTHER FEES :
Fees for the entrance examination, matriculation, and tuition at universities will be paid by the Japanese government.

Transportation to Japan :
The recipient will be provided, according to his/her itinerary and route as designated by MEXT, with an economy-class airplane ticket from the international airport nearest to his/her home country residence * to the New Tokyo International Airport or any other international airport that the appointed university usually uses. Expenses such as inland transportation from his/her home address to the international airport, airport tax, airport usage fees, special taxes on travel, or inland transportation within Japan will NOT be covered. (*The address in the country of the recipient’s nationality stated in the application form is in principle regarded as the recipient’s “home country residence.”)

Transportation from Japan :
In principle, the recipient who returns to his/her home country within the fixed period after the expiration of his/her scholarship will be provided, upon application, with an economy-class airplane ticket for travel from the New Tokyo International Airport or any other international airport that the appointed university usually uses to the international airport nearest to his/her home address.

AGE LIMIT :
Applicant must have been born on or after 2 April 1981 (Below 35 years as of 1 Apri12016).

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS :
1. For Research Student I Master’s Degree Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant field with minimum 65% marks. The candidates should obtain their mark sheet and degree on or before 1 April2016.
2. For Ph.D. Degree Master’s degree in the relevant field with minimum 65% marks. Candidate having practical research/teaching/work experience after obtaining the prescribed qualification as on I April 2016 would be preferred.
3. For Research Student/Master’s degree in Japanese Language
a) Students who have completed Bachelor’s degree I Master’s degree course in Japanese Language from a recognized university.
OR
b) Students who have completed Bachelor’s degree course in any subject from a recognized university and obtained N2 Certificate of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) conducted by the Japan Foundation.
4. For Ph.D. degree in Japanese Language Students who have completed Master degree course in Japanese Language from a recognized university.
5. For Management Field Candidates who want to apply under the Management field must possess a minimum GMA T score of 650 or CAT score of 95 percentile at the time of application.
6. All applicants must have graduated throughout in regular courses (not correspondence or distance learning).

Japanese Language Ability :
Applicants must be willing to learn Japanese. Applicants must be interested in Japan and be willing to deepen their understanding of Japan after arriving in Japan. Applicants must also have the ability to do research in Japanese and adapt to living in Japan.

Health :
Applicants must be free from any mental or physical disabilities that would impede the pursuit of study at Japanese graduate school.

NOTES :
I. The following must be uploaded while applying online :
(a) Self-attested copy of the mark-sheet of the qualifying examination; and selfattestedcopy of the certificate certifying the date of birth.
(b) Self-attested copies of all other degrees/diplomas/certificates etc.
(c) Where grades are mentioned, the candidate must upload the conversion formula adopted by the University/Institution.
(d) Self attested copy of N2 Certificate or higher of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT).

  1. I am a student of Indian government school I am interested in Japanese school and their teaching, culture and I am willing to learn Japanese language also so please help me to join a Japanese school

  2. I have a bachelor degree in Japanese language and pursuing master degree also have JLPT 3 certificate. Am I eligible for that? Is there any examination? Please tell me how I can get it.
