Scholarship:
Seven Merit Scholarships for all UG programmes- one each for each faculty (Law,Management, Computer Studies, Media & Communication, Design, Health Sciences &Humanities) -Total freeship (no academic fee)

Eligibility:
** A student who scores the highest (secures 1st rank) in the SET examination is awarded a Merit Scholarship. The student should have also secured 80% or above at the 10+2 level final examination.
** The student would be awarded only one scholarship/freeship if he/she is deemed fit for more than one. The preference of the student is considered in such a case.
** The continuation of the scholarship in the subsequent semesters, depend upon maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.5 earned during the preceding semester.
** In order to continue the scholarship, the students should not have any backlogs in the preceding semesters.
** The students who have been offered scholarships may avail financial assistance from other sources, but should convey the same without fail to Symbiosis Society Foundation.
** There is no upper/lower income level of the guardians concerned of the wards for being eligible for the scholarship.

Selection:
** The announcement of the Merit Scholarship by Symbiosis Society Foundation will be announced every year.
** If a student, who has been awarded the Merit Scholarship, declines or cancels her/his admission, the scholarship amount will not be awarded to any other student but will be refunded by the institute to Symbiosis Society Foundation, which will transfer the said money directly to the Institute.
** In cases of tie-breaker- The weighted average of academic scores of 10th and 12th will be considered to reach a decision for the award, if two or more students are found to have the same SET scores.

Withdrawal:
** In case a recipient is found guilty of gross misconduct, the case would be duly reported by the institute to the department of student affairs for withdrawal of merit scholarship. The final decision for the withdrawal of scholarships will be taken by the Advisory Committee of Symbiosis Foundation.

Jayatee Deshmukh Scholarship (UG):
Eligibility and selection:
** The scholarship will be given to a girl student who scores the highest in the SET examination and is admitted to any under-graduate institute of Symbiosis International University.
** A scholarship amount of Rs.25, 000/- would be paid to the institute where the student gets admission and the amount would be adjusted against first installment of fee.
** The student would be awarded only one scholarship/freeship if she is deemed fit for more than one. The preference of the student is considered in such a case.

Merit Scholarships for SNAP and SET:
Eligibility and selection:
** Merit Scholarships are awarded to undergraduate students based on scores of Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET).
** These scholarships are semester-based.
** In order to be eligible for the preceding semester, the student have to excel in academics in the previous semester.
** More details forthcoming shortly.

University Sports Board Scholarship:
The students for their proficiency in sports shall be eligible for the sports scholarships, the merit of which shall be evaluated according to their level of participation in different games in different competitions as per rules for the academic year under consideration.

Eligibility:
** In order to encourage participation and merit in different sports, the Sports Scholarship is awarded on the basis of sports performance in recognized competitions held between the previous two calendar years.
** Both prospective/aspiring as well as bonafide students of Symbiosis International University (SIU) are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
** A scholarship-holder is not allowed to accept a second sports scholarship from any other source.
** She/he should also not be an inmate of sports hostel of SAI/State Govt.
** If a scholarship-holder is already in receipt of any such award/ facility from other sources, she/he will have to surrender that in order to avail the benefits of the Symbiosis sports scholarship.
** A selected candidate may ,however enjoy merit scholarship for studies other than sports scholarship and /or fee concession, if given by the Symbiosis Society or Symbiosis Society Foundation.
** The applicant shall apply only in one discipline in which he/she has achieved the highest performance between the previous two calendar years.
** If the dates of competitions or timing/ distance/height/weight/ points etc. achieved are not mentioned in the certificate, the applicant may obtain the same from concerned agency & enclose the same to the application failing which the application will NOT be considered.
** The eligible sportsperson will have to submit their performance report immediately after the completion of a tournament with necessary press clipping through the Head of Institution / Principal or from their State / National Association.
** The University Sports Board has the right to decide awarding the scholarships as mentioned above depending on the vacancies available in the games.

Award of Scholarship:
** The payment of scholarships will be made through the Symbiosis International University Sports Board through the Head of the Institute in which the awardee studies.
** The value of this scholarship will be Rs.12, 000/- per annum (12 months) i.e. Rs.1000/- per month.
** Number of Sports Scholarships= 05.
** The applicant should be a regular bonafide student of one of the constituent institutes of Symbiosis International University.
** The applicant should be eligible for selection in the combined university team and his/her performance should meet the minimum qualifying standard laid down for measurable events.
** The scholarships will be decided on the basis of performance/participation in major recognised International sports events like Olympic Games, World Cup championships, Commonwealth Games/Championships, Asian Games/Championships as a member of the national team/ State team /district teams, etc.

Note: Any student placed on conduct probation/expelled from the hostel/college/university/rusticated and punished for any reason, what so ever, will not be eligible for scholarship.

Duration of Sports Scholarship:
** Sports scholarships are annually renewed, provided the awardee improves/maintains the proficiency in game concerned, passing last annual examination and does not have any backlogs in the subject and fulfills other eligibility conditions. However, one failure in studies can be condoned in the entire duration of programme for scholarship.
** Fresh applications on prescribed formats should be submitted for the renewal of scholarship every year, failing which it will be stopped even if one is eligible.
** The filled-up application forms will be forwarded to the The Deputy Director of Sports Board, SIU, Symbiosis Knowledge Village, Lavale Campus, Pune by the respective Heads of the Institutes after verification

Discipline covered:
The sports disciplines covered under the scheme for scholarships are:
i) Priority Disciplines:
Cricket ,Archery , Athletics , Badminton , Basketball, Football , Gymnastics , Hockey , Tennis , Shooting , Swimming , Table- Tennis , Volleyball , Wrestling , Squash

ii) Other Disciplines:
Billiards & Snookers, Chess, Boxing, Equestrian, Golf, Kayaking & Canoeing, Power lifting, Weight Lifting & Best Physique, Softball, Judo.

Application:
** The Sports person will be required to send their resume along with passport size photograph as per the format given in the Website and also the family details.
** The sports person will also be required to attach with the application form the photo copies of the press cuttings and the certificates, duly authenticated by their respective State Association or the Principal of their school / college.

Selection:
** Candidates are selected on performance and merit by a duly constituted Selection Committee
** The decision of the Committee will be final and abiding and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained.

Last Date:
** The application form should be submitted between- June 1 to July 31 of every academic year.
** Late applications will not be entertained.
** Only ad-hoc requests will be considered after the dead-line- depending on the nature of the activity and the availability of remaining funds.
