Merit Scholarships:
A large number of new scholarships are being introduced for the batch to be admitted in 2014.The details of these scholarships will be put up on the website shortly.However, the details of the scholarship given in 2013 are as follows.

Programme – B. Tech:
Merit scholarships for B. Tech – Total freeship (no academic fee)

Eligibility:
1. Award of Merit Scholarship in the first semester of B. Tech programme will be based on the merit of the following:

I. One scholarship on the basis of SET:
a. Highest scorer in SET examination amongst enrolled students
b. At least 85% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the qualifying examination

II. One Scholarship on the basis of JEE(Main):
a. Highest scorer in JEE(Main) examination amongst enrolled students
b. At least 85% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the qualifying examination

III. One Scholarship on the basis of MHTCET:
a. Highest scorer in MHTCET examination amongst enrolled students
b. At least 85% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the qualifying examination

2. In the subsequent semesters, the scholarship would be based upon the academic excellence, a minimum GPA of 3.5 earned by the same student during the preceding semester.

3. Only those students will be eligible for the award of Merit Scholarships who have cleared the courses prescribed for the respective programme up to the stage of award i.e. they should not have any backlog.

4. The student who has been awarded merit scholarship by Symbiosis Society Foundation shall not be debarred from stipend or any financial assistance from any other source. However, if the student is awarded any stipend or financial assistance from any other source, he/she shall communicate the same to the Department of Student Affairs.

5. There will be no income limit of the parents/guardians of the students for the grant of merit scholarship.

6. In case a student is eligible for more than one scholarship/freeship by Symbiosis Society Foundation, he/she shall be awarded only one scholarship/freeship as per his/her preference.

Selection:
1. The award of merit scholarship for UG programmes shall be announced every year by Symbiosis Society Foundation.
2. If a student declines or cancels his admission, the scholarship amount will not be awarded to any other student but will be refunded by the institute to Symbiosis Society Foundation.
3. The Scholarship amount will not be paid to a student. It will be transferred by Symbiosis Society Foundation directly to the Institute.

Tie breaker:
If two or more than two students have the same SET score, then the weighted average of academic score of 10th and 12th shall be considered for breaking the tie for scholarship.

Withdrawal:
If a recipient of merit scholarship is found guilty of gross misconduct his/her case after due warning shall be reported by the institute to the department of student affairs for withdrawal of merit scholarship.

The final decision in this regard will be taken by the Advisory Committee of Symbiosis Foundation

Seven Merit Scholarships for all UG programmes – one each for each faculty (Law, Management, Computer Studies, Media & Communication, Design, Health Sciences & Humanities) – Total freeship (no academic fee)

Eligibility:
1. Merit Scholarship in the first semester of U.G. programme will be awarded to the topper of SET admitted in an Institute irrespective of the number of UG programmes in the Institute. The student must secure 0% or above at 10+2 level.
2. In the subsequent semesters, the scholarship would be based on academic excellence, a minimum GPA of 3.5 earned by the same student during the preceding semester.
3. Only those students will be eligible for the award of Merit Scholarship who have cleared the courses prescribed for the respective programme up to the stage of award i.e. they should not have any backlog.

Jayatee Deshmukh Scholarship (UG):
1. The scholarship will be given to a girl student securing the highest percentage in SET and admitted to any Symbiosis Institute (UG).
2. The scholarship amount of Rs.25, 000/- would be paid to the institute where the student gets admission and the amount would be adjusted against first installment of fee.
3. In case a student is eligible for more than one scholarship/freeship by Symbiosis Society Foundation, she shall be awarded only one scholarship/freeship as per her preference.
